Figured I’d start a LX600/700 thread for us with issues with the new platform. I guess I’ll go first.

2023 LX600, My rear hatch is starting to experience intermittent issues with closing. I hit the hatch button, beeps once like it’s going to close then I get the 2 beeps and that’s it, no movement. I’m guessing it’s the pinch sensor, I’ll continue to monitor and when I get it looked at, I’ll report back.

2022-24 LX600. Clunk into first gear during acceleration during a rolling stop, but also sometimes during highway driving and downshifting (6th-5th gear).

Solution: no solution, innate design flaw.

Partial solutions:
-You can alter your driving style with gentle pressure on the gas while the computer figures it out, then accelerate after the down shift.
-larger tires make the clunk less noticeable.

Extra comments:
I suspect the design anticipated the hybrid system, as the clunk is completely gone with the Lx700h, and the electric motor provides torque during engine start up from start/stop and also during highway passing maneuvers.
I would still be driving my 2022 with the above partial solutions. It was not a killer problem for me.

2024 LX600 Lag/Delayed/no throttle response when doing a “rolling stop”. Symptoms are worse in sport and sport plus than when in normal mode.
Interim solution - While Lexus is looking into a programming update you can mitigate it by setting your Pre-Collision System (PCS) to the minimum distance (one green bar) or shutting it off. Both are done via the small information screen directly in front of the diver. The PCS is killing throttle response as it sees a potential collision happening. It also seems to limit torque via the torque converter. Moving it to minimum distance makes it more predictsble, turning it off makes it drive like it should but you loose a key safety system

This is usually by weak signal from the key. If you're using the credit card key this can happen.

I've also found if I have a few items in my same pocket as the key fob this can happen occasionally. Jiggle the fob in your pocket or remove it and the hatch closes as normal.

Also note, that if you leave the hatch open for long periods of time (like 2hrs+) sometimes it forgets its position and you'll need to manually close the hatch to restart it's power operation.

Yeah I know about the credit card key for the lock and walk away feature (that sucks with the credit card key) But I’m experiencing it with just trying to close it without locking it or walking way. I had the key out of my pocket in my hand and the hatch was only open for 2 min.

Now that is odd!

I’m bringing it to Lexus next Monday in the morning. I will update. I even took a video of it so these boobs can’t say unable to replicate.

Yeah I have a few minutes.

  • Delayed or absent first gear availability when accelerating from a roll, down to 2mph but mostly between 4-8mph. Sometimes very abrupt delay causing a 1-2 second vehicle stall. Even happens occasionally when manually downshifting as well. Sensation of accelerator depressed as normal, stagnant acceleration as vehicle goes into first, or vehicle revs as it struggles to accelerate normally and slams into first with a delay. Light and tempered throttle application will allow moderate acceleration in second gear only.
  • Occasional downshift delay at other speeds.
  • Credit card key intermittently (mostly) will not work at rear hatch ‘walk away / lock’ function, but does work for normal function. Vehicle does not allow you to bypass the ‘walk away’ to lock function.
  • PCS interfering with throttle input in all scenarios.
  • Jittery and almost subsonic vibrations. Fixed with higher viscosity motor oil for a large part.
  • Stereo will start off at a loud volume when starting the car occasionally, when hooked to bluetooth (phone).
  • Front end is kinda bouncy but this gets smoother as you get 10-20k miles on it.
  • Proximity sensors can be confusing. Backing away from a fence shouldn’t set them off, I am most concerned about looking behind me at the kid climbing under my tire.
  • Doors require slamming, North American fsports didn’t have auto closers till 25 for some reason (weird they didn’t include this for the price point).
  • Transmission/Tc jerks at moderate speed.
  • Square tire feel during cold acceleration (valvebody valve misc)
Edit: 2024LX600 fsport

Rattle/light tapping sounds coming from headliner just in front of sunroof. Anyone else have this issue or a fix? It sounds like it's coming from under the interior lights/sunglasses tray area kind of. Its a faint tapping sound but annoys me greatly.

I recall seeing it being a wire loom connector up by the speaker in the head liner. I’ll look for it.

Found it over at clublexus.

I get this occasionally on cool mornings, but once everything is warmed up it goes away.

As typical my dealer told me "they couldn't hear anything" so it's up to me to fix. I have some foil lined jute that I may use on top of the headliner to remedy the issue.

I get a rattle at the drivers side bottom corner of my windshield and it drives me crazy. I figured out that leaves get stuck under the hood in that corner near the hinge for the hood and in the little well where the wiper connects. I regularly suck them out with a vacuum but need to put some foam in to stop the leaves from getting in there.

Yep same. No simple solution, sunroof cover does it at every position.

Alright, let me share my personal take on the Lc300 after +2 years of ownership. I'll only address my rants but also the workaround the issues for general benefit.

Comfort & Usability
  • Ventilated seats: fan noise is loud and distracting. Sometimes gets to my head on longer drives.
  • Camera view button: awkwardly placed behind the steering wheel. LC200 had it much better near the cluster. LX600 has a smarter setup and it seems to be not an issue for RHD markets.
  • Front camera cover: weak and easily damaged. Mine got chipped just from normal use over 2 years. I PPF’d it, but too late.

  • Speed warning at 120 km/h (75 mph): completely blocks fuel/trip data. Really annoying in the GCC where highways legally go up to 140 km/h.
  • 360° camera system: feels outdated. Shame, because I think the hardware is decent. The real problem is Toyota’s poor software, which they still haven’t fixed in 2026 models.
  • Auto Hold turns automatically off every time you turn off the car.
Air Conditioning & Cooling
  • AC performance weaker vs LC100/200. I currently drive both LC200/300 and used to own LC100. The older generations were noticeably better.I know this point may trigger some but hear me out. The AC cooling performance is good, but in my region, LCs are known to "best in class" when it comes to that and I don't believe the LC300 carried this legacy unfortunately. Above 40°C (104°F), the LC300 starts struggling, while the 200 keeps strong airflow and cooling.
  • V35A-FTS fan clutch noise: excessive in hot weather even under light load. I support the idea of mechanical fans for off-road reliability, but Toyota should’ve tuned it better. Sounds like a turbine, kills performance, and feels unnecessary. Aftermarket fixes already exist, which says a lot. I think Toyota should have tuned it for selective markets where this is actually needed. Perhaps a modded thermostat design or even have an active fan on the intercoolers vs the current passive solution (perhaps cheaping out)

Safety & Driver Assistance (2022–2024 models)

PCS (Pre-Collision System):
  • Overreacts to pavements/bricks as “objects.”
  • Slams brakes when reversing slowly near cars. Happened to me holding coffee… you can imagine the mess.
  • As @Joe T mentioned, it cuts throttle input when it happens.. so if you are living in a region where roundabouts are common.. if this get triggered (which happened to me quite often) it will leave you stuck for 1–2 seconds in the middle of the roundabout. Nearly got rear-ended because of this.
  • At least you can disable PCS permanently, though you’re stuck with a warning light.

Other safety systems

MTS
  • Sand mode is ok for normal sand cruising/overlanding.. but cripples the car going up to sand dunes. I found that keeping the car at H4 and S+ is significantly better for going uphill than MTS. The only thing that worries me is that we had the RSCA disable button in the LC200. Hence, I'm not sure what will happen if i go beyond the 45 degrees in a sand dune with "street driving modes".. like does it know I'm off-roading hence the side airbags doesn't need to be triggered :) .. it doesn't sound very assuring :) (LC/LX)

Child/Family Practicality
  • Rear console fan controls: no child lock. Kids can mess with them anytime, which drives me crazy. (LC/LX)
  • Child seat fitment: bulky seats don’t fit well with rear entertainment screens in the way. It’s so annoying we now use the LC200 when the child seat is needed. (LC/LX)
Infotainment & Tech

  • AC controls stuck on-screen (2022–24): takes up valuable space. Out of 12.3", I only get ~8" usable for CarPlay. Fixed in 2025, but frustrating for earlier buyers. (Lc300)
  • No wireless CarPlay/Android Auto (2022–24): I had to buy an aftermarket dongle. Toyota finally added it in 2025, but feels like too little too late. (LC300)
  • Premium lighting package excluded from LC300 GRS trim. Toyota’s excuse was the metal skid plate, but the lights are actually super useful off-road. I retrofitted them myself since wiring is already pre-installed. Should’ve been standard. See below

ToyotaConnect App
  • Remote start shuts off when you unlock the car.
  • No AC controls.
  • Frequent “recalibration” prompts.
  • Allows remote lock but not unlock. Honestly, the app feels like a tick-box gimmick. When I compare it to German cars or Tesla apps, Toyota’s effort is embarrassing.
  • Not sure how other regions have different implementations
Other Known Issues / Fixes

Carista also allows you to permanently hold PCS settings after turning the car on and off.
