Has anyone installed a 30 inch LED light bar on a sahara bumper? I have one and it is overall 32 inches wide. I am wondering if anyone mounted one on the bumper beneath the hoop and if so what type of mount did they use.

I don't think it will work. I have a 20" bar on my Sahara Bar but really wanted a 30". I measured and it appeared to be too tight to the risk.

Is it the light bar with the included mounting pedestals that measures 32"? I wonder if having the u-shaped cradle mounts would allow you to squeeze it in? If it were me, i'd remove the bull bar portion and run it sort of like a front Slee.

Same here. I would just remove the bull bar bit and mount the light.

A 30" just barely fits on the combination bar.

The pedestal mounts add about 1.5 inches to the total length (33.5) which means they would mount to the rubber pad only, as the steel does not extend far enough forward. The cradle might get me mounted, but I would likely have to notch the rubber to accommodate the cradle and the light would project beyond the front of the steel part of the bumper. Any advice? I am not sure I want to remove the hoop, I kind of like the look :flipoff2:. I could mount the light above the top of the hoop, any comments on that? Has anyone had to cut the rubber on a Sahara bar? I could also mount the cradle on the front of the bumper but thatt would seem to endanger the light since it wold be the first item to strike anything.

BBQBoy, is that a Rigid mount or some other brand?

Here is what I am thinking, if I mount 2 one inch risers on either side of the winch access plate, then mount the cradle with x-long bolts my light qwill sit one inch higher than BBQs. This will prevent the need to cut the rubber as it is 1 inch tall. I am thinking I can make the risers out of Trex material I have lying around (rot proof and paintable and worked with standard wood working tools). This way the cradle will over lap the rubber and the bolts can extend down below the bumper shell for secure attachment.

Any obvious problems?

What about the closing radius of the bend as you move higher up? Also, make sure the risers are solid. A vibrating light bar is a major annoyance. I am on rev. 3 of my roof rack mount due to the combination of light bar weight, aluminum construction of rack and mounting methods.

I think that the cradle will mount enough forward to avoid the problem. The riser/shim/spacers I intend to make should be very solid, I am thinking of mounting them with 4 recessed through bolts, then mounting the cradle with 2 more through bolts. How hard is it to access the bottom of the top shelf steel in order to bolt down the cradle?

I measured from the top of the bars height and a 30" bar WILL NOT fit.
My mount is a Rigid U cradle.

I Ordered the cradle mount from rigid and used a couple of scrap pieces to "mock up what I am thinking on the mount. the face of the light will project forward of the plane of the Sahara Hoop and looks about even with the plane of the front of the steel bumper. It would be slightly behind the rubber Bumperettes. Comments or suggestions?
