Matt how thick does the bedliner spray in, and what is the overall consistency of it, soft or fairly hard? Look forward to pics of it in..

After a couple coats it's about 20 mils, which I think is about an 1/8".....or at least that's how thick I think it is...maybe a tad thinner, but not much.

After it's dried it's fairly hard, but I wouldn't say hard like paint. If you push your fingernail hard enough you might be able to make a subtle dent. But the #39650 kit is supposed to be that way, still remains some plyablity (if that's a word??)

You can see pics of it installed in my 65 lv thread...not sure what page it's on, but several pics of it being sprayed in when the body is upside down.

Joints look great

nice finger work. :grinpimp: what do you do with the joint between body panels? it just seems like an open wound for rust to develop again?

Wow Matt, nice cabin. It's bigger than my urban Denver dwelling and in a much nicer surroundings. ;p

So, did you bag a buck??

Thanks on the cabin...it's a pretty nice set up for a hunting cabin. My dad and I built it when I was in junior high school....that was a while ago ;)

I didn't shoot anything. Saw quite a few, mostly does and fawns. I did see a couple fork horn bucks, but just nothing large enough for me to pull the trigger on. I might be heading up there next weekend again, have to see if I want to work on the lpb or hunt ;p

I really didn't have any rust there to speak of, so I'm not doing anything different.

It was blasted, epoxy primed and will have 2 coats of MBC base and 2 coats of DCU2021......it will outlast me.

i was just wondering if you thought about working some of that seam sealer into the void before painting? seems like a good idea?

I am not sure if its necessary, but I filled every seam I could find including the one in question. After dipping the body, then epoxy priming everything inside and out, 3 days at pismo showed small stains coming out from under seams so I don't think you can do too much.

I have to agree, I have seen too much rust between too many of these seams to not be concerned. I plan on blasting them, then working some sort of liquid rust converter into the cracks then sealing them followed by primers and paint. Obviously, if you can keep air and water out, the rust should never come back, so anything that helps with that is a good thing. Waggoner5, That sucks to have stains coming out already. :frown:

Got about 3 hours this evening on the lpb.

Sanded down the new fenders I had got from Cruiserdan with 80 grit and the DA. After that, hung the up and shot a good coat of epoxy primer, bottom and top. I rolled the the body back in and papered up around the edges. I have been sanding on the inside of the cab and didn't want a bunch of ureathane primer overspray.

Shot a couple coats of ureathane primer on the fenders and the cab. I will have to block out the fenders with 220 grit still, but the cab now has a coat on it for wet sanding. I still plan on spraying the inside of the cab with a coat of epoxy primer.

Hope to get the cab upside down in the next couple days. Have a lot of seam sealing to do on the bottom before the SEM sauce, but hoping to be shooting SEM on the bottom of the cab and fenders by the weekend.

Dealing with that tiny cab must be a cake-walk compared to the wagon body....;)

Got about 2.5 hours on the lpb tonight.

Got out in the booth and blocked out the fenders with 220, that took almost and hour. I have been sanding the inside of the cab with 220 and a scotch brite pad. I spent another hour so making sure I had hit every corner, included the firewall...outside and inside. A little anal rententive on my parts since the inside all gets covered up with floor mats and seats.....but, I just can't help myself.

Got everything wiped down and ran a tack cloth over everything. Then shot a coat of DP50LF on the inside of the cab, firewall and fenders. Few pics of the before and after shots.

Also picked up some needed material from the auto parts store today. Clear, harderner, base and single stage ureathane...without the binder. Took the lid off the base.....you get the idea. ;) Man that is one ugly color :D

too funny :D

I'm feeling left out in this build Matt. Do you need any parts yet. :)

I was thinking the exact same thing actually? ;p Might have to bust out the hammer and beat them up a bit before I paint.

Mike, still waiting on some lv parts :flipoff2:
