The article you speak of was by Arron Thompson, in the July/August 2005 issue of Toyota Trails.

He actually installed a 2F block under the 3FE in his FJ62, retaining the FJ62 accessories. Here are a couple of links care of Arron, aka Tonkota here at MUD.

No, that's not the article I meant. There is an article on a straight 3FE swap into an FJ-60 that goes through the process of re-plumbing the FJ-60 for a 3FE. Putting a 2FE into a FJ-62 is easier than an FJ-60 because a 62 already has the wiring and fuel system for an the 3FE's EFI. Not that this is a big deal...
