In a '78 2f the gap is .039 for US models and .030 for Canadian models.

I use E3.46 spark plugs that have an .040 gap that is not adjustable.

My 2f is a 79 Non USA and has a points distributor in it. I set my gap at .028-.030 with good results. Starts first touch everytime. My points are set a .018 and I get about 4 kms per liter or 9.5 mpg with a 3 spd tranny and 33 x 12.5 tires. Philippine roads and traffic is not known for good fuel economy.
