i replaced my mech pump about a year ago with one from my local checker auto for about 45.00 first one lasted about 3 months but they replaced it for free and the one that i got on now has been on for about a year so far so good as long as they will replace them for free i am cool with that its all about the $ i guess good luck
just because you buy somthing that is oem does not mean it is full proof and is not going to go out imo dont waste your money and if you go to many rigs it sounds like you better have a yard sale.
Where did you buy and OEM pump for $95.00? My local dealer wanted $145.00
I have told my story a couple of times but it will let you know my feelings about aftermarket fuel pumps. I bought my 87 fj60 in cali and started to drive home, drove 200 miles, fuel pump went out. Bought a Checker fuel pump w/spacer and drove another 100 miles, got to Blythe and fuel pump went out. The push arm had broken in two. Put another aftermaket fuel pump and drove home to Phx. Pulled out fuel pump and it looked worn. I put in a Toyota and haven't had a problem since and it has been over a year. Maybe I just had bad luck, but I won't go with an aftermarket agian, maybe an electric as a backup.
