Thank you @tbisaacs for the write up and resources here. Took a lot of the stress out of the process. Icon Rebounds (18x9, +25mm) with Atturo Trail Blade XTs. Definitely under represented on here as far as tires go, but had excellent luck with their MTs and briefly with a set of these XTs on a previous vehicle. Figured for a mind-bogglingly good Christmas deal at $146 a tire and free shipping, I'd be happy to run them again. Will save that diatribe for another thread.

Got away with basically half a pinch weld job (with liner molding obviously), and some very mild trimming up front. They appear at this time to clear the fenders just fine, not even close to contacting the UCA, nowhere close to the body mount, all gravy. Have some of the front trimming left to do, got done what I could during a lunch break.

Hot take, an LX should had shipped with 18's. Ignore the dilapidated Montero... not all Japanese trucks were built the same.

I know this has been mentioned before but I don’t recall the size differences.

Obviously for emergency use only but, any of you know if it’s ok to run a 31.5” spare if I’m running 34” tires?

Running 31.5” now and if I can be a cheap ass and not replace my spare when I bump up to 34s, that would be optimal. Thinking of the old school days when cars had tiny spares.

I believe you want to stay within 3% and that's almost 9%. Go for the full size spare

Differentials will be fine, ensure all diffs unlocked at all times. Being fine however does not make any even remotely regular use of this okay :-) But you did say emergency. You'll be "fine."

anyone currently running this size with Michelin Defenders on a 16+ LC? Im running 285/70R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my stock wheels with Spidertraxx 1.25" spacers and a BP51 2.5 suspension lift. Did not know if moving to 295's would be plug and play or if any additional trimming would need to be done

I went with 285/70/R18 in Yokohama G003. Went this route just to guarantee a matching spare that would fit. Here she is in regular and high mode.

Big shoutout to @tbisaacs for getting this thread started, and for those who provided additional insights along the way. This thread has been helpful in getting my truck rolling right on new wheels and tires this past week. I removed the front mud flaps and used a heat gun to push the front wheel wells forward, and I am successfully running 295/70R18 Toyo Open Country C/T on Fuel Covert 18" w/ +20MM offset on my 2011 LX570.

Thanks again for the help!

She’s a beaut, Clark!

I like this approach. what rims did you use specifically? so you didn't need to do any modifications, spacers, heat molding and it plugs and plays nicely with spare tire as well?

They are
Granite Alloy - GA643
18x9 - 25mm Offset - 6.02” Backspace

Yes, there were modifications to stop rub.
No spacers
Yes to heat molding front of inside plastic wells.
Had to remove the front mud flap and trim where it attaches to on toward the frame.
Spare fits in perfectly.

All easy stuff and I love the look!

Goin under the knife tomorrow finally. Anyone have any pics of tundra takeoffs on a newer body style lx570, or am I bein paranoid?

@Nothinghead I have a 2020 LX and those same wheels on my Tundra. Seeing how great this looks makes me want to consider moving this direction.

Can you share the details? Lift? Wheel spacers? Tire size?
Moderate sensor lift and a bit of trimming or relocating front fender liners. 1.25" spidertrax spacers (I wish I had done 1" for no poke outside the fenders). LT295/70 18 as per this thread. I'm considering going with the Falken tires in 35x11.50 next but I still have a ton of tread and near rub with these.

Is this in high mode, or did you do a sensor lift? The lift is not required, right?

A lift will not help you fit larger tires

Clears the fenders while flexing? Any photos in low mode to show how close the tires are to the fender lips?
