I had 285/75R17 Ridge Grapplers and just 3 weeks ago had to get new tires. I went with 285/70r17 KO2'S, drove home about a mile away and then ended up calling discount and asking them to get me 285/75's. I really tried to make myself like the 70's but couldn't do it. the 34" just makes this LC look right! Here it is with the ridge grapplers.

With KO2…some Load Range C only has 2-ply sidewall, while ALL D & E are 3-ply sidewall.

How did you find this out? Soooo tired of deception in tires.

I just realized one of my 5 Toyos i PAINSTAKINGLY swapped from P to LT made in USA with the real sidewall lug depth is made in japan…

Back to discount tire i go. You have no idea how much i stressed I wanted the ATOM made in USA C load. If you dont check every single step of work these days you are getting screwed.

I though BFG was solid until reading this.

Who the f doesnt lie about their tires? Ill give them my money, i dont cre how s***ty the brand or model is anymore.

And just for the record my AT3s balanced out great, they just dont stay balanced more than a couple months.

I believe that KO2 that come from factory in Jeep Wrangler Rubicon size are 2-ply. My bro’s Ford Raptor KO2 in Load Range C (from factory) is 3-ply. I have not looked at all the Load Range C to see how many are 2-ply but i always give this warning to potential buyers to check the sidewall before buying Load Range C KO2s.

My guess is that the Rubicon’s size KO2 with 2 ply is probably due to Jeep’s request to keep weight down and ride better and not an attempt at deception by BFG.

Thanks, what are the markings? How did you really know?

When i purchased my C load AT3s, i emailed Toyo Technical, and they confirmed, 3 ply sidewall. 6 P.R. stamped on the tires.

On every tire, on the sidewall, there should be lettering on how many plies for TREAD and for SIDEWALL.

So, YOUR AT3 sidewall should say: Sidewall 3 plies. If it says 2 plies then Toyo technical lied. :D

Ended up swapping my 285/60r18 BFG KO2 with some 275/70r18 KO2’s until I find exactly what wheel I want to go with.

Looks great, I’m also getting ready to install the Dobs IMS kit as well and wanted to know if the ride felt the same on those two sizes. I’m debating btwn e and c rated in various sizes due to ride comfort.

I had c and the new tires I have are E. I feel like the lift and tires are a step up from the factory ride as well as the c load bf Goodrich ko2 285/60r18 I had.

Need more 295s and up representation. Don't skip leg day.

OME 2" lift with 285/75/17's. Torn on whether or not I should have gone with the 3" lift.

Did you do UCA’s? I did not want to trim or do any cutting.

Yes, I did SPC UCA's. While they probably aren't necessary with that lift it doesn't hurt and allows for future growth and further adjustability for alignments.
