Trying to find specifics for which diffs the 250 is carrying. I poked around google for a while and tried snooping for details in Youtube vids, but I've come up short (so many YT'ers missed getting detailed chassis shots that I'm guessing Toyota forbade their collection).

Anyone found anything concrete?

Quite a few underbody pictures in this GXOR post

Not a gxor member. Mind snagging the pertinent shots and tagging them in here?

Interested to hear the details on the driveline specs. I remember seeing a post about LC vs Tacoma and it was shocking to see how heavy duty the LC was in comparison.

Those are great photos! Thank you for sharing them.

I notice a few differences from the official images of the suspension. For example the rear upper control arms are different. As are the front UCAs.

Other thoughts - spare tire offset to one side to make room for the rear exhaust resonator/muffler is going to be a problem for larger spare tires. I can see that rear muffler going in the bin pretty fast for anyone fitting bitter tires.

And the trailer wiring is in a poor location. That gets ripped off on the first obstacle on any challenging trail. So that'll need to be relocated ASAP for people who want to use in the dirt. The last GX/4R location was also a bit of pain up beside the spare - but it was very protected. Would be nice to see it just mounted in the bumper like every truck has been for 30 years. Not sure why it needs to be underneath.

It also looks really well sorted in general. From what I can see - it looks very heavily built with the bigger rear axle from the LX and the mounts look beefy for all the suspension parts.

Final observation - I love the square cupholders. So convenient for my square cups. Round cups are sooo 2010. :) - seriously though - I really like it all around. IMO it's a home run product for Toyota. 17mpg is really my only negative about it, but it sounds like a hybrid is also coming.

Not a 9.5, so that's a bit of a kick in the nuts.
What makes you say that? Pretty sure it's a 9.5. Even the Tacoma is now using the 9.5.

If you mean 6 lug - everything is now 6 across the board including the new Tundra and Sequoia with the 10.5.

I wish they would give up the welded-on diff cover. (or at least make it beefier) Here in the land of salt and snow they melt away and a 50 dollar replacement becomes a thousand dollar repair.

I've never heard of this as a problem. Other than the c-clips on my FJ40 I can't think of any time I've ever wanted to take the cover off.

That's an 80 and a 200s rear diff.

300s rear 9.5 diff, red arrows are the same large oil galleys seen in the 80/100/200's 9.5 casting:

Totally different castings to what' s shown under the 550. Doesn't help that neither of the preceeding Prado-based driveline got the LC9.5...they got either the 8.0 or 8.2.

*edit - the more I dig, the more it seems an 8.2 is used. Fine by me, still a good diff and lots of parts available.

It looks visually the same as the Tundra 9.5 on the 22+. Hard to find a decent close up. But they look pretty similar to me.

Pretty significant difference between those two...the Tundra has a mounting boss in the casting that the GX doesn't. Also worth noting, that's not the same boss seen in the old Tundra 10.5:
