oooh bummer - even the non-Hybrid? So just the Tacoma hybrid 4cyl TT for the LC?
It looks like we may have a choice of either the 2.4L Turbo I-4 or i-Force MAX 2.4L Turbo I-4 Hybrid.

But you have wonder, with the implied hybrid, via the lightning bolts, maybe hybrid will be the only option. :hmm:

wonder if the 4runner will be just like the Tacoma - both Hybrid and non-Hybrid options, so if they keep the LC as just-Hybrid, do get the lower price point you'd have to go with the 4runner?

Either way, good to have options.

My only fear with the hybrid-only LC is that they'll mess up the 3rd row like in the Sequoia

'm hearing rumors of a refreshed lc70 debut same time as the LC250 global announcement.

Boy are we in for one hell of a great week.
The new LC70 is being released in Japan as a full line product, right? Not as an "agriculture or mining" product. That is a pretty interesting turn of events when you consider the density of population in Japan. Toyota sees a market for the LJ70 in a largely urban/suburban space. Very cool.

It seems like the 70 updates are for global 70 markets as well not just for Japan.
So every market that currently gets the 70 should get those updates as well.

The difference is its being reintroduced to Japan for the first time since it was sold for a limited period around 2014.

I think they have a thread about some of the changes expected in the 70 section.

Not for the US, we don't get the Nissan Y63 Patrol.

International markets may get different engines for the 250.

Rumor has it that the next armada is going to have a pro 4x trim level getting it closer to the patrol

Toyota steels defeat from the jaws of victory once again.

Armada = 209" length

LC250 = 194" length

15" extra length on the trail can be a pain.

"They" are willing to spill what it won't have but won't confirm exactly what it will?

The Patrol Y63/new Armada is coming next year and will be a very formidable rival to the LC.

It's a bit bigger though, kind of in-between seqouia and LC300 in size.

It will no doubt come out with all its cards out leaving nothing behind.
Nissan usually goes all out from the first year with the Patrol.

The best land cruisers have spawned as a result of the fierce Patrol/LC rivalry.

The LC80 was actually rushed to market to counter the Y60 Patrol that launched almost 2 years earlier with coil springs.
They went all out with the LC100 as a result of how neck and neck it was in the days of Y60 vs 80 series. LC100 blew the y61 out of the water when it came out but Y61 was excellent off road and is still in production today.

2010 Y62 was a response to how great the LC100 was and every facelift of those generations y62/LC200 was a back and forth.

I love the rivarlyl between them.

Nissan is probably thinking wtf are these guys doing launching too very close LC series lol.

In the UAE for example other than tour safari companies which prefer LC, the Patrol dominates the market.

In Qatar and other GCC countries LC is king but Patrol still does well.

Here in the US, Nissan is known mostly for Rogues sold on 5-year loans.

That's the nature of pre-reveal leaks, I've seen it on other brands and models.

Patience grasshopper, August 1st is coming soon.

LOL that’s exactly how insider leaks don't work. It’s a guess as good as any other then. Educated guesses are fine but once it's given that gravitas then it should have actual specifics without the 'mays' and 'ors'.

While I'm critical of some aspects of the 250 (based on what we know now), I think it's rather premature to write off entirely.
We shall see, a really low buy in price can be interesting but I really hope they don't redo the sequioas cargo area.
