Yup, nothing to see here. Unless Motortrend somehow scooped it before everyone else and sent it off in their mag to thousands, we are t-minus 5 days and counting…
I think we have enough to figure out how it is going to look. The real issues for me at this point are features and pricing.

My latest predictions (based on GX and hunches).

$60k starting with V-6tt. Eventually a V-6tt Max hybrid option.
Possibly a $55k base model with I-4 Turbo
E-KDSS
MTS and Crawl Control
Center and Rear Lockers, possibly an optional front locker
33 inch tires

I think that would make a lot more sense than to have a LC250 and a same-size 4Runner and the GX and LX all in the same market. But they really need something smaller like Rav4 size to fill out the lineup now. It would have been the more logical choice to just call this the next 4Runner. It looks like a new generation 4runner. It's the same market segment as the current 4R. The 4Runner has more brand recognition in the USA. And it leaves the hierarchy in place vs the LC300. I think they'd lose more than they gain by calling it Land Cruiser and dropping the 4Runner. However, I also have no idea what there is to be gained by having this Land Cruiser co-exist with the LC300. So, I clearly don't understand what Toyota is going for here. Whatever the case is - if they price this vehicle in the same space as the 4Runner - it'll be a big hit.

I tend to agree, and am really excited for the 2nd, its coming up quick.

While I have been fairly critical of Toyota recently, i think they do have a chance to get a win with this current gen of BOF options. I think the issue that they had last gen was that they essentially brought the wrong product to market, and regardless of how much we can respect the engineering that went into the 200 series, bringing it to the market to compete escalades and various upscale SUV/Cross overs was asinine. One upscale version of a 50k Utility vehicle is understandable, two however is something else.

A large contributor to the success of the last gen 4runner was that it was the only vehicle in the lineup that offered, great reliably, good capability, and was priced realistically.

I really don't think it matters what Toyota calls the next gen mid size BOF in the states as long as the next gen mid size BOF has the same attributes that were successful in the past.

I think this is an opportunity for Toyota to take a new approach to the LC badge, and while I really like the new GX, the reality is that I am not dropping 80k on a deprecating asset that I have to modify because they put small tires on it. I am however willing to drop 45k to 55k, that I may have to modify, because i don't feel that price range is full blow crazy world.

I can see that, but the 60k base feels too high for what they feel they are competing against.

The 250 in GX Trim is going to be completing directly with the Defender 110 which starts around 55k.
The 250 in LC trim is going to be completing directly with the Bronco which starts around 35k

I really don't think there is that much room the 250 series to really push the price tag at the moment, especially with tight credit market. I can say that I am biased towards toyota, but 60K will get you a triple locked Bronco with removable Hard top and 35's.

TTV6
E-KDSS
MTS and Crawl Control
Tripple locked
33 inch tires

Feels right, at around $55 to 60K, or where the current TRD pro 4Runner is priced.

Could it be that the badge on the back of the LC250 is the same as the Tacoma iForceMax badge?

Looking at the left side of the blue LC250 tailgate badge, it seems to be circular, the same as we see on the red Tacoma tailgate, blue dot at the beginning of the iForceMax badge? Also, at the far right side of the badge, it appears to be the bold chrome, MAX word.

From this video:

It looks more jagged than a circle to me. 2. Even at an angle it looks too short. 3. if they do have IForceMax at launch I am afraid it means it is a 4 cylinder since the GX550 has the Max engine coming TBD.

I’m sure this reveal is going to be a “global” event that will include both a global audience as well as a “distributed” media experience for the reveal.
Let me see if I have the interpretation correct. The "Global Reveal" will begin at 8:00pm EST time on Aug 1st, broadcasting from Global Headquarters Japan with Simon Humphries presenting.

Then at 9:20pm EST time on Aug 1st, they will handoff from the "Global Reveal" location to the Regional Reveal locations, in Europe, Australia and the US (SLC LC museum). Once there, the regional models will be presented and then the presentation will end.

At that point, the embargo will be lifted and the youtube media personalities will release their videos that they made on July 29th, July 31st and Aug 1st.

That’s $20K below current 2023 LC Prado pricing in the EU ex VAT, a reasonable benchmark. I don’t see Toyota selling their new flagship product at a huge discount in the US. So the range is more likely to be $65-$75K and closer to $80K if there is a V6 TT version. And that already is a fab price for a fully featured LC if it turns out to be worth its salt.

Just in case your pricing guess is accurate, I am already looking into the formalities to ship a new LC back to Europe. I would rather buy a TRD Pro 4Runner as it is among the best looking SUVs I have ever seen and on a par with the FJ40 and FJ 60, but the 4Runner is not homologated in the EU so I can’t do it.

Brown98LC, what pricing are you seeing in the ME?

That may make sense, delay the GX iForceMax so they are available to put into the LC250 at launch. Then as production capacity catches up, they add the iForceMax as an option to the 2025 GX 550.

My dealer (owner of the dealership) said he thinks $60K range. Base at $60K ?

That is Car and Driver's prediction as well.

Basically the same as what they did with the 300 reveal with people globally "experiencing" the Land Cruiser heritage.

My favorite part was when the 300 was released, not a word was uttered about the USA Land Cruiser community. Then for the LX600 reveal, they had a woman looking through binoculars with sunglasses on, at dusk.

Yeah, I can’t image it is gonna be cheaper than that, and with typical option packages will get materially more expensive fast. They know the value they have in the LC badge and will be making full use of it (though with a reasonable discount from the 300 series and where the last of the 200 series were).

Lol, modern times. Remember when car news was Road & Track, Motor Trend and Car & Driver. My go to car YouTuber is Joe Raiti. You know he is 6ft tall.

Hopefully the camera spends more time pointed at the truck instead of their faces. Next up, long videos of them in the driver seat because they are much more important than the vehicles they are supposed to be “reviewing”.

Remember when they actually reviewed vehicles, good bad and meh, instead of bringing in only gushing fans to regurgitate corporate talking points. Modern times indeed.
