Pig parties are less about the trails and more about the kool people that attend both in person and virtual. Sure, there may be trails the mini vans can navigate, but it’s sooo much more fun in an Iron Pig. I’m sure jaws drop when a dozen+ unique, ultra cool, classic Toyota Fj55s roll by.

I feel like Montana might have a lot of snow in June this year. Maybe recon Montana for next year so we are aren't waiting till the last minute to figure out the venue.

Ok here is the deal. There is a group camp site in the Cedar City area, which where the Left Hand trail is along with tons of other trails. Cedar Canyon Campground is available for reservation from 6/30-7/2 and good for up to 35 people. I will book it right now if you want.

Location:
UT-14, Cedar City, UT 84720

We're in, it's getting way too late in the year to do much more debating. I say let Nick book it and we can start looking at the trails. It's a good location to do some exploring on our own coming to or leaving the party.

That Duck Creek/Navajo Lake area is amazing! Checked it out on the way back from PP2019. Very scenic, no shortage of backroads and trails in the vicinity. Also a short jaunt from several State/National Parks like Zion and Coral Pink Sand Dunes.

Might want to loop in Evan @fj55-100 for some local advice. He’s just down the road in St. George.

My jaw drops when I see all the pigs lined up on the trail. That will never get old for me!

Driving through Zion is amazing! Driving through Zion with 12-16+ classic FJ55’s would be priceless!!!

Ok, So I called the reservation office and the site is good for 35 people, but will only house 4 vehicles. Most of the group sites will only take up to 6 cars and Cedar Canyon is the only group site available for 3 days at the end of June. I think we will need to just find a meadow and do dispersed camping.

This might make logistics easier in the long run. We can also get input from locals on good camp areas. We need to choose a weekend. I think 6/23 or 6/30 are the best options. Though 6/30 gets close to the 4th and the might conflict with some people's plans. I am partial to 6/23-25.

I put a poll on the thread. You can make 2 votes. 1 for the date and the other to agree on Dixie National Forest. If too many people opt against Dixie, we will have to find a place quickly and I really don't think it is good to go back to the drawing board.

Once my kiddo clears high school I’d love to come down for one of these, even if I don’t make the trip in a pig.

Post lotsa pics again, love seeing this event go down!

I am not going to take the poll because I can make anything work, most likely. It does depend on getting a list of repairs done on the old truck. I didn't get some of the basic stuff done last year and it showed. I just finished inner axle seals and brakes on the front end, so I am making progress.
Kocapelli is on my list. I would be up for that. We would need to bring extra gas. But I am up for other places too. Where ever it ends up, I will find some trails to run between here and there and back again. Like always, nudge nudge, @scrapdaddy and @Gordobe .

@fj55tlc Craig but you did have the sweetest awning/room setup so…

@fj55tlc we just started talking about where to go before the party or after it, maybe we can figure something out. I'm with you on Kocopelli, something I'd like to do, also.
