I took delivery of my 2018 LC on September 9 (my LC was the first retail delivery of a 2018 in the States, and I think the second one off the line. The first one is still for sale is Houston-Yikes). I traded in a vehicle which they valued at $80,000. So the number is around $78,000 plus TTL.

Good luck.

FYI - only change is the power hatch and soft open lift gate. As well as the optional screens.

Factory remote start has gone unchanged for Toyota and Lexus vehicles. Hate it or love it - it is the same.
Same short range, same engine turns off when door is opened and you have to re-start to leave.
Same stuff.

Having said that if you do not have the "factory" remote start and you would like it - a dealer can easily add it.
It's actually a dealer add-on anyway - they don't come from the factory with it.

The remote start sucks indeed. I’m sure an aftermarket from Car toys would be a better solution if possible.

I just watched a new YouTube review of a 2018, and I am not sure why, but they were specifically talking about how they thought it should have a power hatch.
Basically they were complaining that the rear hatch was not power.

Can anyone with an 18, confirm the rear hatch is power.

I can confirm the 2018 has a power/remote upper hatch and slow open lower hatch.

Wonder why the one in the video didn't...? The tail-gate flopped down hard in his...

Personally, auto hatch would drive me nuts...because it seems to move so incredibly slowly.

I would want them on a LC about as much as I want my low-rez rear seat video screens (not).

I like the power closers (in a backwards sort of way). Wife had a mini-van with them - hating the things so bad she jumped onto the 4-Runner bandwagon. One thing leads to another, and now we have the 100 series LX and the 200 LC - life is good.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I bet that guy doing that review, really had a 2017 tester, and just wanted to get more views so he called it a 2018, thinking they were unchanged, that he could get away with it.

Those factory press fleets sometimes get shuffled around the country, and that silver Cruiser looks exactly like the 2017 model that TFL video reviewed earlier this year in Colorado.

I bought a 2016 in April of 2017 for $75k - MSRP was 86,000. Manufacture date was August of 2016, so it was sitting for a while.

In reality it wouldn't be an issue for you. Power hatch works just like the non-power hatch if you want to use it manually. Also, there's nothing slower than having to set your gear down to grab the stupid electronic pad tucked above the license plate. I love it on my LX and both my wife and I laugh at our 8 year newer LC not having it. Having both it's a no brainer, especially with it being passive if you don't like it.

It is a point of humor for us b/c whoever is using the '08 will pick at whoever has the newer '16 by opening the rear hatch remotely just to :flipoff2: with whoever gets to enjoy the newer vehicle that day.

Prior to the LC, my company car was a 2016 Highlander with the auto hatch. That damn thing drove me NUTS. It was slow and it never worked like I wanted. That said, maybe the 2018 power hatch works differently but, based on my experience with the hatch on the Highlander, I'm MUCH happier with manual functionality. BTW - I paid $78,663 for my '17 in Feb, and got the "special" white and all weather mats as part of the deal.

Just my .02 but the power hatch on my cars especially during winter months is a huge bonus. Walking towards my car with grocery’s and hitting the button key before arriving is fantastic. Most importantly when it’s raining or snowing. Another bonus with having a power hatch is not getting your fingers dirty when the rear handle is filthy. I can take it or leave it on the LC but would be slightly happier having it to save some of the trouble when your hands are full, etc.

Reviving this thread to see if there are any add'l folks who have made the move into a 2018 model year and what everyone is approximately paying. Currently on the hunt, and prices seem to align with some of the numbers posted previously (MSRP mid $80k range, purchase for around $77k-$78k).

Absolutely cannot come to terms with the "high def" screens protruding from the front seats on a leftover or lightly used 2017. o_O

Thanks for all of the useful information!

I got a 2018. Price was $75,650 before tax and title. I got a true car quote and a Costco quote and then went to a third dealer to have them beat it. Then called the other two dealers to have them beat it. Then went back to the third dealer and had them beat it again and purchased there. Everything was via phone and email until the date of purchase. Happy shopping!

FYI The initial quotes were around $80K.

I ordered my 2018 in Nov, MSRP is a little north of 86.5 (Blizzard plus a few accessories), price is 77.5 so a little over 9K discount.

I dickered with one dealer for a couple of weeks but got no joy, went to a second, then the third was the charm. He had a grey one in stock for 77.5 but wife wanted white so he said if I ordered he'd give me the same price despite the upcharge for the paint. Pretty much the easiest negotiation on a new car I've had; we'll see how the closing goes. The ship got into port a few days ago and I am patiently awaiting the call. That grey one, btw, was out of his web inventory a week later so somebody snapped it up.

That first dealer gave me a "no-haggle" price of 83K to start lol. Such a deal!

I had been shopping for an 18 the past couple weeks a non ent. pkg model MSRP was looking like 85200-86500 depending on other port add on options floor mats nets protection pkgs, remote start etc, .
Best I was getting to was $78K pre tax total inc dealer doc fees.

$75,650.00 was a smoking good deal, congrats on the new cruiser.

To be honest I thought I would get down in the 75K range but after this past week I figured needed to wait till later in the year to get there.

My parents get their ‘18 without rear screens tomorrow. They got it for $76,000, but that included shipping it from the dealership in Illinois to their house in Florida.

With 4 miles on the clock and already in their driveway, they can break in the drivetrain perfectly.

No reasoning

We keep our DD 12 months and get new ones for the wife and myself. Same thing last 8 years or so

Why not sell both private and make a few bucks rather than dealer beating you up on trade in price and then them making money on resale of your car and making money on you for the 2 new ones? Im sure you could find someone on the forum who would appreciate a West Coast car with no rust and light wear and tear.
