Pic is fake and will not be anything like the real vehicle. Changes are going to be more major than that.

The latest info from Japanese MAG-X should be the most accurate to date.
The last time the 200 got updated pictures leaked around 3 months before production actually started. So maybe in May we might end up getting some real pictures.

Still not impressed with that picture i think the previous versions look better. I can't imagine them making huge exterior changes to extend the cycle 2 years? Interior and tech yes. The '13 changes were subtle changes to me. They also have to hype it up to get people excited.

The one thing that is consistent about Toyota/Lexus when it comes to the LC/LX, every generation gets uglier. Loved the looks of my 80 series, liked and grew to love the 100 series, hated the looks of the 200 series, but it is growing on me slowly like mold.

I here that.
One thing I am afraid of for the new LX is that aweful hourglass/spindal grill will probably get larger, and I am afraid the LC could get that alien nose design of the 4 runner. I sure hope not. But I can sure see it happening.

Width has apparently increased from the current 1970mm to 1980mm as a result of the updated styling.

due to new fenders?

I would assume so yes, i actually remember reading a while back when they updated the 200 the first time they enlarged the fenders slightly but i don't recall an official change in width measurement.

10mm could be just a simple change to the mirrior design. Possibly to occomidate blindside monitors sensors , cameras, etc.

The Prado/GX have the blind spot system and use the same exact mirror.

Staff manual with all the changes is already available for the Japanese Toyota dealers, so if anyone here lives in Japan they can go to the dealer and they could probably see how it looks. It would detail all the changes with some pictures as well.

I am surprised no images have leaked yet.

Nothing on the LX yet though other than the fact it will also get updated.

My point was really, only that a simple change in the design - shape of the mirrors could effect the width 10mm with the body and chassis being essentialy the same. 10mm would translate to something moved out 5mm per side. Whatever it is mirrior, body molding , misc trim, fender stamping etc. it's only 5mm wider then bebfor. Since mirrior a are the farthest outward point. My guess is some sort of design change to the mirrior.

thanks for all the info on the new 200 coming out... If the dealers in Japan have this info we should be seeing pics anyday now right?!?!

I've never driven a g63 but following one on the highway the suspension is so stiff the rear wheels where coming off the ground. comfortable?

You have always sounded like a realist....until now ;) I must call BS on "coming off the ground" unless special situation. I've driven the G63 about 100 miles on a few different drives. It's no worse than an tight aftermarket kit on the LC or my 2004 disco which has 2 solid axles and OME kit.

I think buying a used armored truck would be a more fun ownership experience ;)

I wouldn't expect and armored truck to have highly designed ventilated seats or 3 manually locking differentials, or a heated windscreen ;)

Edit: Well, unless you got an armored G63... which there are of course.

The new Mercedes G500 SUV & G63 AMG SUV

Starting price over $115,000 & $137,000. Holy Cow!

Looks like a modern FJ60 with fancy interior, monster motor, comfortable? suspension..and it costs over $100,000 more than the FJ60 did in 1986. So much for progress.

I think it is the best looking 4WD wagon available today. Too bad it's not 1/2 the price.
I'm not much of a Benz fan but if you're speaking of the G... Then this is a proper G-class. Needs a decent paint job and a spare on the rear and it'll be gold.

A. could you live your current lifestyle on 1986 dollars ? It's all relative but yes, they are goofy money now even accounting for inflation.
B. At 1/2 the price, they'd be a serious value product. Kind of like a LC is now ....
C. Best looking available today? Sure but only in US market. Rest of the world can buy one of the last new Defender 110 or the sweet LC70
D. ...and by the way, that is the 2015 which has been out since last summer... old news.
E. NEW "news" is that the 2016 G550 will have a 4.0L bi-turbo V8 which will be more efficient while also a lot more power and torque than the outgoing N.A. V8 in the current G550.
F. the crazy cool news is what was just posted, the G500 4x4^2 (4x4 "squared") model with bad ass portals, dual damper suspension, CTIS optional, 35"-37" tires on beadlock

The g63 is a solid frame, off road vehicle set up with super stiff suspension and ultra low profile tires. I'm not sure where you live but the highway expansion joints around here in NY are murder.
If I owned a G63 I probably wouldn't care because the sounds it creates are freaking awesome.
The G63 is probably one of the most ridiculous trucks that has ever existed (but I want one, just for a month). Im a car/truck fan not just a LC fan. Drank the LC Juice long ago but it's not the only juice I like.
Are we all way off topic??

Oh, btw Range Rover announced a Diesel for the U.S. Come on Toyota give us something here in the states. I drink diesel juice too.
If Toyota and Lexus continue with the 5.7 with the 300 I'm afraid our beloved trucks my die a slow painful death to extinction in the U.S.

I checked out the new bi-turbo version two weeks ago at the dealership, it was pretty, expensive and looked solid.
