I own and operate a shipping company and we recently moved over 1000 brand new Land Cruisers for the govt. One of the vehicles was damaged while on the car carrier and now has no roof. We purchased it and had plans to make it a trail rig however with a baby on the way, things change quickly! Everything on the vehicle works. Because we can not sell the vehicle as a whole, we will be parting out the vehicle so if there is something you want, please let us know. Engine only has 30 miles on it and is the 4.2 straight 6 Diesel with an aftermarket turbo charger and intercooler and block heater. It has a ton of torque and power. Solid axles front and rear, low range transfer case and many others! Please get in touch with me for details.
Thanks,

Thanks,

1) why does the government buy toyotas and 2) why don't a few more get damaged?

i will take drivetrain- whats price? 5spd or slushbox in these? axles locked? cable etc?

it must be manual .. electric lockers if so .. and aftermaket turbo intercooler kit .. ( 1HZ engine and R151 tranny it's my guess )

Your PMs are full... so let me know if you get to the parting out stage, per my PM request. Selling the entire thing is so much easier to deal with. Best of luck!

Road trip?

When can we pick it up? How about a raffle? So how many parts can I buy before it is considered whole?

I just talked to the owner this evening. He is one hell of a nice guy and super busy. Don't be discouraged by a slow reply on Mud. He is new to the site and inundated with questions & request. If anyone can clear up the paperwork and ship the truck to your door... it is him. YES, this is the same truck on Ebay.

I'd help drive if you're doing a coast to coast road trip. ;)

BTW, is that an aftermarket turbo setup? No HD-T pipe but it has a factory 90 downturn air box (with the aussie like dirt catch). Would like to see more label shots and ID tags out of curiosity.

sorry if i don't get all excited ...
take off the red colored glasses boys.
that vin will not be able to be registered in NA.
your buying a frame and an engine, now if you had a LJ78 or a HZJ(PZ)77 to swap the body on then maybe but not for that kind of coin.
$15K tops for value.
1HZ $8K
R151 $1500
frame $1000
non-locking diffs $500 each
turbo $2500
interior bits and peices $1500

reality sucks, eh?

If anyone knows this market.. it's you. Grant it the price on Ebay is rising now..but out of curiosity can't one put a 60 diesel bodied (shell) on this frame and be done? The wheel base appears to be the same. If the 3B is registered and here legally.. wouldn't that work? Sell off or use the interior parts that fit... sell off the rest of the 79 parts that are salvageable to re-coop some of your money. You would then have a dang near NEW rig. Just wondering.

To who buys the whole vehicle:

In the spirit of the christmas season, how much do you want for that Safari kit?

:grinpimp::grinpimp:

me,
if i was to buy it then i would look for a dead LJ78 and do a full tub swap switching the dash to LHD.
then i would shop for a HD7* front clip and install.
done.

but

say you bought it for $25K
then found a LJ78 for $3K
shipping say ... $3K for moving a dead truck
then a front clip for $1K
about 2 weeks labor at a shop 6 X $450 = $2700 up to $4200
then paint $1500 for a splash job
$36,500 on the low end. $42K on the high side.
and
how would you register it unless you played the vin game?

of course you could purchase it, buy a cab and box from Mister Proffit for $7K, and a bit of labor and you have a pickup for $32K+
and still have to play the vin game.

so

moral of the story
"never invest money you can not afford to lose"
