Right? I wonder if there is a cap or something I could used to cover the roof rack mounting location holes/gaps? Anyone have any suggestions?
I think there is one on partsouq, I just haven’t searched for it yet. But since you have plans on putting an aftermarket roof rack, clear silicone will do and can do the job of sealing the threaded mounting hole.

Sweet ride, can’t wait to see the flat tow setup you settle on.
I’ve already got a blue ox base plate from the LX so I’ll probably use that for the time being. I’ll eventually get the @Victory 4x4 front bumper as they have the tow loops And they’ve said it’ll be perfectly fine. They did recommend the steel bumper, not the aluminum.

A little 💯 mph (Duct) tape will also do the trick while you wait for your rack...just make sure your leading and trailing edges are tightly sealed if you hold short on the silicon.

Well, it’s been a minute since I’ve had a chance to update this thread. Got a few things done:
- major paint correction and ceramic coat
- ceramic tint on all the windows and 80% on the windshield
- tundra trd rims and tires - 275/65/18 Michelin LTX AT2
- plastidipped the front grill black
- AHC fluid changed and torsion bars adjusted to level the truck out
- waiting on a @Victory 4x4 roof rack to get here. I’m really digging the clean roof though!!

That thing is clean

Yes on flat towing with the bumper. Blue Ox makes D-ring tab adapters as well as many others:

We do recommend the steel version of the bumper just for the added strength and the steel has slightly thinner D-ring tabs that are easier to work with on tow bar attachments. 👍

How much did you end up spending on the window tint? Did they have to remove old tint and apply new, or was it free of tint to begin with? Looks great!

I spent $400 for the whole truck plus windshield. There was already tint in the front two windows the guy pulled off. I have him do all my vehicles so he probably gave a little bit of a price break.

Put me on the waitlist for purchase if the day comes you part with this tow car. I’ve thought about trading my silver for either black or white, but the thought of setting another one up to tow keeps my wants in check.

I’ll be getting the base plate installed this week and will hopefully have a chance to do the wiring. As far as setting up for towing, it’s probably the easiest vehicle I’ve done.

I also have one of these lights ordered for the victory rack - I hope it fits!

Well, in my never ending tinkering with this truck, I found a really nice set of forged BBS tundra take-offs I think I’m going to buy... should I install these or keep the trd offroad set I just put on??

The Tundra BBS on their TRD Pro looks sweet, very light too and strong. The ones you got on now are just regular TRD offroad found on any Tundra, i find them around me for $4-500 all the time, the TRD Pros they're asking $2000, without tires.

Forged BBS adds will make your rig pop...
I agree. I’m picking them up on Tuesday. Need to find a 5th for a spare now!

I was able to get my OBD2 Bluetooth module connected to the new head unit. I set up the screen to show me some engine and vehicle diagnostics through Torque software. Torque is very customizable and shows a lot of parameters.

Those wheels are sweet, i'm assuming you're running spacers to clear the front hubs? Throw some meaty tires on there and you've got a killer rig.
Yes. 1.25” spidertrax. This truck is going to see 90% pavement, 10% forest roads here in FL for a while. Also, it won’t get driven much so, for the time being, the Michelin at2’s will have to suffice.

Excellent, i miss the smooth ride of a non-A/T tire but i need them for bad weather here and the trails. Did you get a chance to weigh the wheel and tire combo? I'm curious as i know those wheels are forged and very light compared to my method cast wheels.

I did not but i will the next time the wheels are off. I can tell you they are noticeably lighter than the tundra wheels I just took off with the same tires.
