2006 Unicorn Land Cruiser Non-nav AHC 59k Miles

The reason I wanted a non-nav unit is the simplicity of adding my own head unit that suits my needs. As far as I understand, the only units that were built with non-nav/multifunction were those shipped to Hawaii or Puerto Rico but I could the wrong. In my 06 LX, I installed the grom unit and it worked pretty well. The truck does not come with the factory radio so I will be on the hunt for a factory non-nav radio just so I have it if I wanted to put it all back to stock.

I know what unicorn means. Anyone can have a unicorn by doing Nav delete.

However I haven't read anybody who bought a unicorn and did the OEM Nav mod. It would be a cool mod  and you would be that  dude.

Well, I got one and I DIDNT have to do a “nav delete” so... give me one good reason to do the OEM nav mod?

Wow. She purdy.

Nice find!

Thanks. I ordered one of your key shells (black and gray) to replace this:

Well I finally have had some time to start going through my new land cruiser. It’s pretty sweet! My son and I changed out the power antenna today with this:

AntennaMast

Very easy to DIY (even easier with an extra set of hands.

I emptied the glove box and found all the original paperwork with the truck: window sticker, owners manual and supplement book. Waiting for registration to come in to get it over to the detail shop for tint and a full paint correction. There is a some mild surface scratching but nothing that can’t be fixed. The worst damage was done by the transporter! They must have hit it on something on the truck and cracked the rear spoiler. My dad took delivery of the truck at night in the dark and rain so he didn’t see it. Was pretty frustrated for like 5 minutes but first world problems!

First service item on the list while waiting for registration and tag to come in is the AHC fluid change. I connected to Techstream and was pleasantly surprised to find the following results. I’m going to change the fluid and see what we come up with afterwards.

My son and i have been actively working on the new rig. We replaced all the dash lights with new white LEDs, finished installing the headunit and running cables/wires, installed carbon air filter (still waiting on the new OEM cover) and cleaning the interior with cue-tips as we go. Im going to be getting the exterior cut and buffed, along with cleaning up the headlights and sealing them, and then either having the truck coated or wrapped in PPF. I’m slowly working on detailing the engine bay just to take some fancy pics and see exactly what I’m working with before I change the plugs and a couple other 60k mile service interval stuff

I need some input on the front end though. The front bumper cover is in good shape but it had been repainted and its been bumped in two or three places leaving some spider cracks in the paint under the clear coat, hardly noticeable unless up close. I started looking at front bumpers that i could connect tow bars and flat tow behind our motorhome as needed but also want a winch. I already have a bolt on blueox baseplate and i could order a trail taylor winch plate or something similar and do a hidden bumper mount install and have the ability to install the tow bar base and be good to go. OR do i order a @Victory 4x4 front bumper and get a winch installed with it??

I did a quick hand buff with some very light oxidation remover on a small section on the hood. It should clean up really good with a two or three step job by a professional.

Finally completed the radio install that included sub install and removal of the lighter and replaced with USB extensions for the radio. Also completed was the dash lighting conversion to white LEDs! Everything pretty much matches and is sync colorwise. I did a thorough cleaning of the center console area. including removing and cleaning the vents, switches, plastic trim and cupholder. Feels pretty good to get all that done today.

I had a buddy do a 3 stage paint correction and 3 year ceramic coat.... looks incredible. Trying to decide on plastidipping the front grill inserts black to match the truck or go with a kelly saad full grill replacement? Soon to come: tundra 18" trd wheels, 275/65 or 70-18 tires, roof rack and front bumper.

Well, it’s been a minute since I’ve had a chance to update this thread. Got a few things done:
- major paint correction and ceramic coat
- ceramic tint on all the windows and 80% on the windshield
- tundra trd rims and tires - 275/65/18 Michelin LTX AT2
- plastidipped the front grill black
- AHC fluid changed and torsion bars adjusted to level the truck out
- waiting on a @Victory 4x4 roof rack to get here. I’m really digging the clean roof though!!

Very Nice Clean Rig... You can't go wrong with Victory mate, nice choice. Enjoying this thread...

Still lamenting the fact that this one left Minnesota. Rig is looking exceptionally clean, though. What spacers are you running with the Tundra wheels?

Haha. It’s been living in the garage since I got it. I picked up a set of 1.25” Spidertrax from a user on here.

Looked even better without the factory roof rail and cross bars.

Right? I wonder if there is a cap or something I could used to cover the roof rack mounting location holes/gaps? Anyone have any suggestions?
