If its the one i think you are talking about It must have a problem as its been up there a while and a price like that wouldn't last.

I like the detective game but I already messed the OP up on another so I don't want to give it away.

Ha! Fair enough. I see two. They do look like either, A) total steal, buy it; B) holy s*** one heap of s***...

I'd love to think it's a steal. 100's are 100's. Either a gem, or a bucket of trash

The one I posted this morning was on a City of Baltimore unclaimed property list back in MAy, it was auctioned as a result. Back in 2009 it was listed as stolen and recovered in a 3 day period. However, Carfax also stated it was 1 owner for it's life. Maybe a drug dealer? It's a good drug dealin' rig, you have to admit.

I'm having it inspected by a local shop and will let you know what they find. Worth the $65 just to satisfy curiosity.

If you pass on it, and the price is stupid please PM me the listing. I wouldn't mind. If something happens, I'll pass along $65 to you to cover the inspection

so not the silver one with the champagne bumpers in houston? that one seems cheap too

It's a 2006 with 195K miles listed for $11495. Was quoted an out the door price of $11500, included their fee. No TT&L included since I would be an out of state buyer.

Inspected at local shop that had dozens of positive reviews. Feedback from shop:
  • Not rough, for 195K miles and 10 years in good cosmetic shape
  • AHC fully functional with no weird noises
  • All electronics and systems work without issue.
  • TPMS light on
  • One tire manufactured 2004 (dealership states they will replace), others 2014
  • Rear shocks leaking
  • both brake bleeders seized
  • Left front sway bar link rusted through but not other signs of rust underneath except normal light spots typical of a non salt state vehicle aged 10 years
  • Brakes good
  • No current or stored codes in ECM or TCM
  • No sticker indicated timing belt replacement. Any other way to tell the age?
  • Recommend fluids replacement.
  • Recommend spark plugs replacement.
  • Shop owner and mechanic said it looked good and they liked the vehicle, they could recommend a purchase

Buy it! Pay for the TB and all the associate pieces and have them do it before you show up. That's a great road trip with plenty of time to enjoy the truck.

I put a deposit down.

Now to sell my beloved 80

you flying to pick it up?

you flying to pick it up?

Leaning towards shipping it due to time constraints, should would prefer to drive it back.

I'm actually driving from Texas to Virginia to see family for the week of Thanksgiving. In my head I picture driving our family vehicle up there, then putting it on a trailer and towing it back with the Land Cruiser. My wife and kids already think I have serious mental issues when it comes to vehicle acquisitions so I think I won't do that. Plus, I'm still cynical issues won't be found given the 195K miles and low price so driving the whole family back while towing 5500 pounds might be pushing it.

wife drives 1 rig home, you drive the other.

I live about 45 min from leesburg...sounds like you got this covered tho! Def not a bad idea driving back with the wife in a support vehicle or towing...peak week was probably 2 weeks ago but its still a beautiful drive, and the thrill of not knowing what may break on your rig while hurdling down I81 south at 80mph is always tempting!

Edit: Just looked and i've seen that dealer post over the years on CL and the like and their vehicles always look clean and legitimate. Congrats!

I'll give you her number so you can call and tell her about the 20+ hour drive. :)

Shipping is looking pretty expensive. I could leave it at my brother's house in Richmond then fly back up on some frequent flyer miles I have and drive it back solo.

Shipping - $1300 (current bid)

Trailer pull our other car - $700 (Uhaul states minivan is too heavy for dolly and trailer is needed, but then towing 6k pounds with an unknown condition cruiser) + $150 (the difference in gas between a 25 MPG car and a 12 MPG car for 1450 miles) = $850

FLy up and drive back - $240 in gas + $50 in Uber airport rides + 2 days of my time
