I put 200+ miles on it today. It is a harsher ride, yet still nice.

On my 80 series, teh OME improved the ride 100% over stock, I would say the 100 series OME is a downgrade, but imperitive if you want to run this size tire.

I have a slight "clunk" coming from the driver's side torsion bar when I brake. I will have to check and see if all is well in the morning.

The Nitto's are damn nice though. Very quite. They are real wide so they do tend to find lines in the road and follow them, especially when braking.

FWIW: I had a clunk from the PS side. Finally figured out it was the sway bar. My 100 came from the rustcoast and the sway bar had quite a bit of surface rust. I assume since the lift effectively changed the position of the sway bar bushing it kinda snap/clunked. This noise has subsided...presumably because the rusted portion of the sway bar has burnished in...or at least that's my hypothisis...and I'm sticking to it :)

I went out of my way to buy this truck from the dry west and when I got the title, it spent its entire life in Chicago

That is a good idea, I can pull that and hse it with Sea Foam spray....

Off in another direction: I have found the OME rear 101 shocks, with Slee bumper, AO drawers and all the gear in the drawers, fridge, etc. are 'overtaxed': It would be nice if someone could source a heavier duty shock (Billi/Koni) to match rigs equipped like ours (Christo: Are you listening?) in a longer version. Even if we have to do the eye mod for the 100 rear top shock mounts to get'er done!

We have some on the way to Christo to try at the moment, longer than the 105 series L shock standard, and will fix Nolens lack of droop problem also. We use Biltein, set with Toyota bonded bushes, which are the most durable. They work well, even on trucks which go 4.2 tonnes [4200kg] over here loaded, but with the velocity controlled valving, they also work really well unloaded, fast or slow.

We have also designed a rear spring which is higher than an 864, but softer, for ride, so ride height loaded works well, but works unloaded as well.

Sounds like your toe is off. Did you have it aligned after you lifted it?

I did. I have owned just about every tire know to man and anything over a 12.50 tends to wander a bit on the lines.

I am not talking about small stuff, the places I found an issue was at stop lights where the pavement is grooved badly from trucks.

Overall they track nicely.

How do you adjust the steering stops on this IFS?

My lack of droop is limited by the suspension if all is adjusted right, correct? I hate to use shocks as limiting straps

So these 105L shocks will be for the front and rear?

Correct, hence the droop measurement being critical, because the shock is the suspension limiter, and thats why so may manufacturers have had trouble with the washer turning inside out on top of the shock, and the nut pulling through. Your shock being slightly shorter than what we use is why you have limited droop.

We fit limiting straps to those we see might be an issue, but in saying that, we have had no issues with our Bilstein top design.

OME here have had trouble with the bottom eye coming off the LTR's.

So Christo will have some of these shocks soon?

Correct.

Sent him a set for Joe, and a set for his own truck to try first up.

The totally transform the way the vehicle drives on, and offroad, our bigest improvement from standard of all the toyota's we do our Bilstein shocks for.

Are they 5100 series Bilstiens?

Definately not!

They are a US bilstein orientated product, we use German made components, more in the 6 series, body and velocity controlled valving, with our bushing requirements.

My Slee bumper is without tire carrier, so I will add a little more. It looks fine....

I went this route too and the Slee rear bumper without tire carrier didn't change the 863's much at all. The factory trailer hitch weighs so much that between it and the factory rear bumper, the weight difference was negligible compared to the Slee rear bumper. I too, am about 1.5 inches higher in the rear even with fully loaded cargo drawers and Slee rear bumper. Apparently, putting the weight of the spare and spare tire carrier farther out on the rear bumper helps a little more on the 863's.

We found the 863 - 864 designs can be to soft, or to firm, and we made a spring in between the 863 and 864 with a higher free height, and a different design, so it rides better than the 864, we also do a spring same design between the 864 and 868, for the same reason, and I found the heavier one even rides very nice in a 100 with no rear bar, or lang range tanks, or drawers.

Can make the rear sit a little high if unloaded, but when you can lift the front, with Christo's diff drop, with the specs I gave for droop, the car sits balanced.

We try and work on a 1" rake, front to rear, so slightly nose down generally.

Some pics etc of how they sit here, where I went and set up a distributor recently, and we fitted 5 100's out,

Color coded sliders and bumper just for you Garth :)

Garth, I spent all afternoon on Sunday painting the underside with rust bonding paint.

I think I will keep it ;)
