Guys...need some input.

I have my Tough Dog suspension on the way (41 up front-45 back)

I have my 5 Dakarzero wheels ready

I need to choose a solid tire. I've run BFG K/O2s on my trucks and on my last LC. Didn't hate them but didn't love them.

Unsure what load rating to go with as well. I'm open to opinions and suggestions all the way around.

Most driving is in town but there will be excursions offroad. No MOAB type offroad. Mostly dirt, sand, gravel, trails...mostly midwest stuff. Also, snow and occasional ice.

May tow a small trailer every now and again.

Thanks in advance.

I'm a newbie here, but I recently changed tires. The original to me Toyo OII were down to 4/32. I decided to go with Yokohama Geo G015 and am very happy. Quieter, nice ride. Hearing wind noise over road noise for the first time. I'm like 90% on road and so far I like them. I could have squeezed a few more months out of the Toyo's but glad I switched. One other observation, Even though they're A/T, the Geos don't look very aggressive either from the side or the tread. I've read the comment that the side lugs are basically useless. I'm fine with the looks and less aggressive sides.

Wanted to give an update to anyone considering Ridge Grapplers in 285/70r18 on OEM wheels and suspension.

When I originally placed the RGs, there was minimal rubbing to KDSS on full right lock. I recently installed .75" Bora spacers with the goal of eliminating the rub on KDSS... which appears to have done the job. However, there's a new rub (far more substantial than the original KDSS) on one of the bolts to the driver-side wheel well. So... off to Harbor Freight to get a heat gun! Hopefully that'll do it

Here’s how they look:

What’s the status on your 34’s? How are they working out rub wise?

I like Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo III. I had them on my Tacoma, and will be putting them on my LC shortly. I don't rock crawl, at most it's dirt and gravel as you describe. Great tire for that environment, and excellent on-road.

So with the 3-day weekend, I finally had the time to hit the wheel wells with the heat gun. Pushed them in about an inch or so and... the rub is virtually gone. There's still a *tiny* rub on the KDSS bar on full lock in both directions, but you've really got to be listening to even catch it.

In retrospect, I probably would have gone with a 1" spacer vs the 0.75". That likely would have eliminated the rub on the KDSS in both directions. Live and learn. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I think the RGs in 285/70s really are the perfect tires for our rigs, at least on stock wheels and lift.

Do I wish we could go 35"? Absolutely. But this comes pretty damn close without (most importantly) making significant modifications.

Great to hear. This may be a option when I regear to 4.88’s. If the gears feel to low I’ll go 34.
Thanks again brah!

Mounted the SCS RAY10's with 285/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. 2 Inch OME Lift. Installer did some significant trimming but ride has been perfect, no rubbing at all.

I have the same wheels and tires on the BP-51 lift, remove the front mud flaps, and alignment with under 2* caster - no rubbing or trimming on the wheel well.

Cruiser 35s..jpg

Wheels are 17x8.5 +0
Tires are the new Kenda Klever RT in 35x10.50R17 , Pizzacutters FTW!

I need to measure with them on the rigs weight but they are a proper 35" tire.

I will say that the clearancing required wasn't too bad, and required:
  • Removal of mud flaps
  • Trimming the inboard side of the sideskirt plastic
  • Clearancing of the support for the inboard bolt of sideskirt plastic
  • Heatgun molding of the front of the fender liner
  • Minor trim of the front bumper lower edge
EDIT** should probably mention that I am on BP51's with the standard +2" ish lift.

It will hit the dirt this weekend so we will see how it does when stuffed and what else may need to move.

Running the 275/55/20 version of this tire on stock rims and love them. Quiet, grippy in wet and snow. Crawled through some terrible roads in UT and they worked great. Best street-AT I have found, jonesing for 285/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers now.

Anyone running SCS Ray 10s 18x9 with the 25mm offset with 275s and no lift? I'm leaning toward the KM3s after riding in a buddies 4runner where they were very comfortable and not noisey at all for a mud tire. Trying to determine what size tire in the KM3 or KO2 for SCS wheels without a lift. Also, I've seen several posts about trimming to avoid rubbing, but not many pics of just how much trimming was needed. Car is primarily wifey's so looking for an aggressive tire that will fit stock with maybe some plastic bending with a heat gun only.

So I have been reading about tire size, rims, offset and spacers for days. Kinda new when it comes to offset and spacers. I have a simple question. I have '13 LX with stock rims/tires. I would like to drop down to an 18" tire. There are two sets of LC OEM rims for sale by me, one set from a '13 LC 9WITH 275/65R Geolanders) and one set from a '19 LC (285/60R Dunlop AT23) The '19 set are listed at 60MM offset.

Would either of these sets fit my LX with no mods?

Either set should be fine. You have to exceed 33” O.D. or radically change the offset to have an issue. I have 275/60/20 with NO rubbing even in low mode.
