I think I see a Kaymar rear bar in your future :)

;) Most certainly - unless Christo @ Slee decides to make his 200 bumper available to the masses. I really want a ladder on the left so that I can reach the ARB rack a little easier.

Well, in another thread where I asked him, he said that they were NOT working on any bumper for the 200 at this time. So don't get your hopes up. I mean really (Slee), you have seen all of the good interest in a bumper; just make one already. :) I wonder if we got a list or group together to show "Here, we have X many people willing to put a deposit on a bumper today. " if that would be enough for him to start producing them. If it looked anything like the one-off they did for their build, I know I would be interested, especially if he could get the price down from the extravagant ARB. If I could get a ladder on one side, and a tire carrier on the other, I would be a very happy camper. Cest la vie.

Yeah, they aren't working on one - but he did a sweet bumper for his own 200...so I know he has the plans somewhere

Well, dammit Slee, make one! :p

Unfortunately probably not. We never develop anything based on people having money down. That is way to big of a risk and I have never seen that turn out good. For either customer or vendor. We can not predict time lines. I think what most people don't realize is that we also operate a 3 bay shops that does installs, full maintenance and builds. All development has to slot into available time. So that does not make for a lot of extra capacity. I wish we could just employ people to do prototyping, have more prototyping equipment in house and get product faster to the market, but there is the realistic mighty $ aspect that has to be handled.

I see the interest, but I can also assure you that 20 interested people does not make for a viable market based on the cost to get the product to market.

Now this is the rub. ARB is hardly extravagant in price. With today's production costs I am not even sure we can get something to market at the same quality level for less.

Also, I know there are smaller shops that produce things for less than us, however in most cases once they grow and start taking true overhead into account, they would not be able to produce products for what they are selling them. A simple visit from an insurance broker and a discussion about "Product Liability and completed operations" policies and premiums wants you to throw in the towel.

It is unfortunately a sad fact that as you grow, you have to protect more and more of your assets and people, so the cost goes up exponentially.

Everyone wants something better with more features for less money. We did one bumper before, and determined that there is no way to bring that design to market due to complexities, fitment criteria and also cost. So we learned from that one, but very little of that design could be carrier forward. So it would be back to the drawing board.

That coupled with products that are already in prototype that has to be completed puts this on the back end of the list.

Christo -

Thank you as usual for your clear and crisp answer. While I, for one, would love to see your company produce a 200 series bumper, I will have to live with the fact that it will be quite unlikely to happen. From my experience, your products are top notch and are always worth the price of admission ... with great customer service to boot.

I would also like to say thank you too. I hope that one day, you will be able to release one, but now I see things are not so black and white. I hope you were not offended by my comment. It was actually more of a compliment; I really really want a bumper like the one you made for your project 200. It is beautiful. It is by far the best looking tire carrier I have seen on any 200. Please let us know if you guys decide to change you mind.

Looks great

Just some light offroading this past weekend. Here's a nice "poser" shot...it'll have to do until I get my lift on.

what tires you running on there?

Starting to look too much like a "Bro" car now. I like the looks of the stock grille and lights.

Dude that's awesome. I'm working on a 62 as my fun rig. Problem I foresee is that by the time I'm finished I'll be even more reluctant to let the 62 rip on the trail as I am in trashing the bejasus out of my TTD 200 now. But the V8 TTD 200s make for a wicked tow vehicle.

Took a poser shot while doing field work yesterday.

...just thinking how good this thing is gonna look with a bull bar and a 2.5" lift. :)

I'd remove the Pederson front plate and surround...or photoshop it out!
