"Pretty capable?" Well yes sure, depending on your concept of wheeling I suppose.
Its self evident however that the prospect of significant panel damage rises or falls in a direcrt relationship to the difficulty of wheeling terrain and in an inverse relationship to the extent of lift and armour.
And only a fool would deny that capabilty can be enhanced through better traction - often via means ATs or MTs.

Yeah, well, you NZ guys are pretty hard core down under.
Pretty jealous of all the stuff you guys get there. What I'm saying is that 90% of the rigs on here go on roads that I can take a Subaru down. Not everyone "needs" mods. Sure, capability can be enhanced by tires, lift, armor, etc. But is it needed? I'd say, most of the time, no. Especially among the 200 crowd (no offense). Like the dude THEROK. He doesn't need a lift or tires. I think he admitted he's a mall crawler. Nothing wrong with that, but I find it funny that those guys are regurgitating the "lift, tires, armor" rhetoric when they don't need it themselves.By the way, you are the first nerdy kiwi I've met.
Ha! "Nerd". Never been labled a nerd. Usually the opposite in fact. Terms of indearment for me include "Heathen", Uncouth wastrel", cultural inbred, philistine, etc ....... and that's from my friends.
Id argue many if us don't need a vehicle that costs more than $30k let alone a 3 ton tank with hummer like mpg seen in strip mall parking lots nationwide. We are buying luxury goods here so let's not preach as if we buy for subsistence.
It's a very emotional and personal decision.
And in my not so humble opinion stock cars are as exciting as apple pie.
No one is winning trophies here so why not look good while going at it?

Hey...I've won a few trophies with my 40- does that count? 
. I'm fortunate to have a few and can take the mall cruiser LX470 on highway trips and then take the 100 or 200 off road and they are much more capable with lift and tires as The Roc points out. He was just saying - looks good, put some new shoes and a lift and you can do even more- that's all..now, back to the pictures.

I'm interested is knowing how that Viper bar is working out Tronzistor. I assume the bar is steel and is mounted via crush cans to chassis? How does it get on for movement where it touches the body panels? A few pics of each area would be good. Perhaps a new thread would be useful. Cheers. And welcome.
