why did you swap to steel wheels?

Congrats Desert Nomad!

That's some dark tint! Looking good.

Thought it would give more of an aggressive look. As well if they got damaged while off-roading it would be easy to fix/replace unlike the alloys.

Had time to take it for a spin in the desert :)

Spent the last week poking around here with a bunch of friends:

Latitude: 43°59'55.21"S Longitude: 169°50'1.27"E see if you can find it.

Incredible terrain, remote and pristine. Sometime in your life get down here and have yourself an adventure. Great hunting and fishing but without snakes, no bears and no bombs. - 'Matter of fact everybody likes Yanks. Most dangerous thing are the cougars in the bars.:D

Reasonably easy terrain with a few challenging climbs and lots of exciting water crossings. I've been putting it off but need a front bar now desperately. Going for an ARB sahara bar it think.

Couple of Go-Pro clips taken along the way:

Nice shots Billfish!!

I finally have my very own chapter to add to this thread - as of tomorrow morning, I am the proud owner of a 2007 VDJ200R LandCruiser Sahara. My boss gave me an offer I couldn't refuse on his 200 as he has moved up into a Lexus LX570.

Here's mine sitting in my carport until the registration changes hands in the morning (not my plates, I gave them back to him)

And the new LX570 that he's gone into

That Lexus is the flashest vehicle I've ever sat in - I even told the boss I'd walk home from one of our sheds the other day rather than take the chance that I'd get dirt on the cream leather interior!

I'm pretty bloody happy with mine though!!!

I'm also packing up and moving back to the south-eastern corner of Queensland again after an awesome 6 years in Tropical NQ. I am sure as s*** going to miss spending winters up here from now on!! I've already driven my 60 Series down there, next will be the work 200, and my wife will bring down the Sahara later on. Her current car will hopefully get sold before we leave, otherwise there will be another 1350km road trip happening!

Hi DM, your ride looks great .... what tires are those and what size ?

Thanks, they are the standard dunlops grandtrek that came on the 200.
285/65 R17 Might go for the 285/70 R17 BFG AT in the future

Desert Nomad,

one of the nicest LC ive seen, what kind of fender flares are they and can you show us installation pictures? is the installation clean around the edges? what was used to secure it in place? paste or bolts?

NQCruiser
How do you like your snorkel? is it noisy above 100KM/H? can you share more pictures please?

I'm looking for that size aswell preferrably ltx ms2, but tough to find them here in Dubai.
Where did you get the wheel arches from ?

Alwaysme/Jamshed

Flares are the bushwacker ones. Got them from advanced expedition vehicles (AEV) on sh.zayed rd. Will put up close up pics of it later. They're held up by bolts and paste.

Regarding the tyres you can try the dealer or tyr express at the emorates petrol stations. And I can call up a shop in the morning and see if he has them or can source them and will let you know
