What kind of roof top tent do you have?

It's the Inspired Overland standard tent mounted to the factory cross bars. It's very light at ~80 pounds and is ideal for one person. With the 200 sunroof shade closed, I don't hear any extra noise and don't feel the weight on the trail which is exactly what I wanted. I removed the mattress it came with and use an Exped Mega Mat which is the perfect length for it, and it leaves enough space on the side for my duffel bag, an Ecoflow River Pro battery pack, and an extra blanket. For the price point, I don't think it can be beat, but it is relatively small and minimalist and should not be compared to tents that are $5k and 200 pounds that fit a family of 4 plus the dog.

This is how Prado’s are made, right?!?

Brought one home today, we figured it was time to add a “her’s” to the garage. Thanks a lot to @32cls6speedmt who had a lot of great advice and everyone who chimed in on my windshield thread. I guess all the time spent on here really prepared me to ask the right questions and shake these down, I’ve had a lot of back and forth with several dealers on and off for a while and narrowed down the list to this 2021 CPO with 50k miles. The owners daughter worked at the dealership and she called him for details on the windshield and a couple other things. The free maintenance with the CPO will be nice for the 60k service, it will be a baseline for every fluid except the radiator. I’m reluctant to do this but if I can find a good dealer who uses the unicorn fluids then I’m really tempted.

This will be my wife’s daily driver. She finally caved after our trip to the beach a few weeks back. To be honest, having that long of a drive in the manly van following 3 weeks straight in the Land Cruiser had all four of us saying , “Man, I miss the Land Cruiser.” The van is a great people hauler but the Cruiser, even our fat, heavily modified one, just excels at so much more.

So, the plan for this one is a lot more mild and prioritizes our on pavement trips. Wife wants a fridge/freezer, a LRA, and a drawer or two. We will likely need a roof box for some gear on occasion but the OEM rack may be enough for that. We like the Jerry cans and 12volt water pump on our Cruiser but that will require swing outs, we have not ruled this out tho. A matching Dissent swing out is in the cards. I still have my set of HE wheels tying our bedroom together so they may get another shot on the road if we go 24gal LRA.

For now, my immediate plans are remove the 3rd row, see if our rubber Land Cruiser floor mats fit, and get a car play module. I’m not crazy about the LX screen thing, I prefer the touch screen but it’s something I can get used to. We’ve been discussing this fantasy for a while and this business in the front, party in the back theme has really stuck…. No, I will not make her have a vanity plate that says “mullet” but I can’t promise to not refer to this vehicle is the mullet mobile.
