Went on an EPIC 4300 mile trip! more to come!

First pic is Waxed and ready to go!
Second pic is packed and ready to go, shortly after this picture we went to dinner for my 39th birthday. Afterwards I left with my 8 year old son, 15 year old nephew, and 16 year old niece. We traveled for a week before meeting up with my wife and 2 younger kids in Cody WY.
We left Tulsa Thursday night June 9th after dinner, crossed state line into NM around 3 a.m. Slept until 6 a.m. and got to the Grand Canyon that evening. It was gorgeous!
Grand Canyon

From Grand Canyon we drove to Monument Valley and set up camp at 10:30 at night. Then a small sand storm. lol Camped in Monument Valley for 2 nights.

Monument Valley

From Monument Valley we went to Durango Colorado and camped at Lake Havilland for 2 nights.
From Lake Havilland we went North on HWY 550 into Silverton briefly then onto Ouray for one night in a Hotel.

While in Ouray I was not gutsy enough to try the Alpine Loop alone. I did go up the Camp Bird mine road to Yankee Boy. It was gorgeous, at one part the trail was washing out a bit and it made me nervous. Next thing I see is a 4Runner zoom right past me with a bit more speed and went right up it. I had been cautiously driving like a granny. Now I see the benefit of a oil pan guard, or rock guards underneath. Scenery was spectacular.
Sorry for all of the Ouray LC Porn, I'm just excited.

Next stop was Salt Lake for a night, then up through Idaho to Jackson Hole.
Shopped around Jackson, then camped out in the Grand Teton National Park for 2 nights.
We were in the Colter Bay Campground, very nice.
Then upwards to YellowStone

Thanks Kreiten, we went on to South Dakota and Mount Rushmore, Wall Drug, and then headed home. I would like to join you guys next year in Ouray. Don't think I will make it this year. Of all the places we went Grand Canyon, Ouray, and Grand Teton's were the best.

Finally got around to installing my 37" spare tire.

That's a HUGE tire. I bet that was fun getting that positioned on the carrier.
looks good

Maybe I'm gettin wimpy in me old age as I was straining just to lift my KO2's over the wheel threads the other day... but wow. Those suckers must be HEAVY! You might need a separate "tire jack" to lift that thang... ;)

I picked it up with my gigantic muscles.

(Sarcasm)

Honestly, I think the tire is about the same weight as the 35" Nitto it replaced.

wheel offset also?

They are 285/65/20 which is 34.6, I believe. So please excuse, I rounded up. The wheels 20x10s, and I believe the offset is 35mm. I added one inch spacers, which I think helped. And probably added to the rubbing.

We will try again and I can bore you all with some of the same pics or more pics.

Friday after setting up camp.

That orange FJ with the custom trailer is sick. Must be a military surplus trailer converted. I want to do this.

I did; then I went with the Toyos and it changed the amount of rubbing/noise big time.

Rounder shoulder profile than the trail grapplers? The tread looks to be set slightly further in than the relatively square profile of the Trail Gs.

Took my 15mos. old on his first trail ride today - went to Peru Creek outside of Keystone, CO, and visited some old mining sites. Obviously a very easy trail but wanted to ease Alex into it. Hope he likes what I'm doing to his truck.
