In the Tesla-style head unit thread, there’s a link to a SMARTY Trend screen. If you check out the link and scroll down to the 2008-2015 image of the dash this is pictured. I’m wondering if that is a genuine factory Toyota 200 Series front/rear locking differential switch and accompanying dash panel. If so, anyone know from what market or what part numbers?

That's the 4Hi/4Lo (H4/L4) rotary switch found on all 2008-2015 LC200's:

I'm not sure what you are referring to. I'm not aware of Toyota offering the 200 with lockers. In the top picture, the red circle is around the push button start (top), and the rotating range selector (4 high and 4 lo).

Clearly, it is the 4H/4L switch. And although it appears darker than mine in that pic, I’m not sure what the hell I was thinking. Too much egg nog I suppose...

The 200 factory rear e-locker switch is this

Never an option on US spec trucks.

So there was indeed an oversea oem rear locker for the 200?

I’m guessing it’s cost prohibitive to bring one in? Easier/better to go with a Harrop ?

Yes, definitely available overseas, for example an Australian VDJ200. Not too hard to bring the needed parts over, we can get them. You would have to do some minor mods to the axle housing (40/60/70/80 guys have been doing it for years). I scouted it all out for my 200 but chose to go proven ARB instead. Faster actuation, etc.

The funniest part is that 08 - 15 US market Cruisers have the same 4WD ECU as the foreign market rigs that have the factory locker. Given the proper wiring, it could actuate the diff.

I think I saw a thread here where someone mentioned the wiring was already in place for a rear locker.

I think that was me. The wiring for the factory diff lock switch was already there in my 2011 VDJ, but is absent in our '17 VDJ. I just had to get the switch panel (55447-60030-C0 for the back one).

Ok. So I have the switch inbound. I have a rear elocker in place. And I have a 2009 LX570 (earlier model so may have the wiring in place?). . . I'm mostly interested in the red light illumination on the speedometer / dash console as pictured by @HRTROB . . .

It looks like pin 11 on the 4wd ECU is ready and waiting for a signal . . . Assuming there is no connector behind the dash, can you help me determine which of the five pins is the one headed for pin 11 (#2?) While we're at it, any wisdom on which of the others are ground and 12v (#4, #5)?

Not sure where the illumination pin is, and not sure how FL and RL is determined, as only three pins look to be installed (I would expect 4 or 5 . . .)

Any and all help welcome!

Yeah, so, there are five positions and three pins (at least in this pic from Oz ebay. Interesting.

What model is that wiring diagram from?

When I use a flashlight I can't see the locker indicator on my dash. Not sure it is there to illuminate.

The diagram is from 2009 international 3UR Land Cruiser manual. It’s a portion of the Four Wheel Drive Ecu page.

I don't think any LX570s came with a rear locker so we may be out of luck when it comes to getting a red differential lock light to come up on our instrument panel.

Yeah, this may be a rabbit hole. However the early years like I have share a dash cluster with land cruiser, so it may be that there is a label, possible there is a light in the socket and probably unlikely existing wiring behind the dash. Never know as often cheaper for manufacturers to use the same parts and harnesses across models. The 4wd ecu is the same part.

Oh I was thinking that the dash clusters were different between the LC and LX. If they are the same then it is probably possible to get the indicator light to work.

Update: @grinchy I checked my cluster at lunch with a flashlight. I could see the outline of all the indicator icons and there is no diff lock icon other than the center diff lock. The LX cluster must indeed differ from the LC cluster.

Went out with a flashlight and looked at the gauge lights. The 2009 LX570 (US model) does not have the Rear Locker light. Bummer!
