Hi everyone, am new on here and still feeling my way as i am inexperienced with the IT tech stuff, but I will learn. My introduction is to explain that my project involves locating an 80 series body onto a complete 2008 model 200 series rolling chassis. It has the V8 diesel and 6 speed standard auto transmission. We have proceeded to the point where all body mounts have been installed and are at the point off installing the complete 200 wiring looms. My son who is electrically inclined wants to know if the vehicle can start if the harness is not connected to the brake booster? The work involves draping the wiring over the naked rolling chassis to figure out intially where the wiring goes. Most of it is straight forward stuff but he was hoping someone on here would know. I think that this might be just the start of many questions but it is a start. Thanks in advance to any info that can be provided. The wiring is the major hurdle that I must get over if this project is to finish successfully.

I’d 100% be guessing if I tried to answer the brake start question, so I won’t bother.

I don't know if it would work (I would think so though). But I have a copy of the FSM for Australian vehicles if you need wiring diagrams and troubleshooting steps. I suspect based on those you'd be able to answer the question. Send me a PM if you need a copy.

Thank you very much. That information would be most welcome and gratefully received. Can you send it to me at straw@focusqld.com

Hi I just responded to your post but unfortunately I am not well versed in communicating on here yet. Still feeling my way. I accepted your offer of information that you could provide and asked if it could be sent to straw@focusqld.com I am most grateful and thank you very much. The job ahead is daunting but we have to do it to get this vehicle started.

Sent. It's got 80 and 200-series docs. The 80-series stuff is LHD for US models but might help you as well

@Straw10, if you have a website or youtube channel dedicate to this build, post a link here as I think a lot of us would be interested in following your progress and witnessing the end result.
