These types of threads exist at great length in many of the other series forums, kinda odd to start thinking about URJ200 and LX570 parts that are already getting discontinued. Most of the parts I've seen thus far have been color specific trim items and there are often workarounds with later model parts.

A word of warning for threads like this: unless you **speak** with a Toyota parts professional that has access to the Toyota Parts Master database, and they then confirm the part is discontinued, then please **do not** post in this thread.

Erroneous information is just as bad as a part truly being discontinued. A website that is trying to sell you something is not an authoritative source for information regarding what parts are still available from Toyota or not.

The other caveat is that just because something shows discontinued in the US does not mean that it is discontinued **globally** from Toyota. The Land Cruiser is a global vehicle and while a part might end up being discontinued here it might still be available from Toyota in Japan, say with a different part number. Or, it might be available in the GCC because their supply chain system is quite different than the US Toyota part supply chain, etc. There are **a lot** of differences--globally--about how things are procured from Toyota for service part support to the consumer. The US is the tip of the proverbial iceberg when it comes to global Toyota parts procurement.

Every single thread like this on MUD tends to get muddied up by people that do not understand the difference between "discontinued" and "not stocked". Big difference. Most people also have no clue that without speaking to a Toyota parts professional who has access to the Parts Master database it is basically impossible to know whether a part number is discontinued or not. E-commerce websites **are not authoritative** sources of information regarding part number availability.

First one to kick off this thread, the TRD 3UR-FE oil filter kit is officially NLA. Some still lingering around the US.

Part# PTR43-00081

Good news, the standard 04152-YZZA4 (which supersedes the 04152-38020) is still widely avail. I personally liked the element of the 00081 much better.

My contribution is the following:

Looks like OEM Toyota windshield glass is no longer available for (at least) the 2009-2015 Land Cruiser:

I wonder how the aftermarket will pick up the slack...

This is in stock in dozens of places with a part number search?

FWIW, Toyota part websites started listing the 2016-2021 200 series glass as NLA about a year ago. But, the Toyota internal system still had production/stock. Could be a similar situation for the earlier year windshields, too. Not sure why it was/is limited to internal orders, but I had no trouble getting one by talking to the local parts guy.

This is incorrect. Just because it is not for sale does not mean that it is discontinued.

There are plenty of this part number in the US currently at Toyota parts depots: my depot in PHX has 2 in stock and a total of 16 nationwide with 2 inbound from AGC in Japan.

There are zero of this part number sitting on a shelf at a Toyota dealership. Parts like this are not stocked by Toyota dealerships and are ordered on a as-needed basis. A Toyota parts manager would be fired for stocking a part like this on their shelves. It would be considered very poor inventory management.

I stand corrected. Sorry for the confusion. Original post edited.

@OGBeno Might be a good idea to put the last 4 paragraphs of this at the beginning of the thread, if possible?

This thread brings out my hoarding tendencies, I just found 6 of the PTR43-00081 and bought them all...

I'm sure there are stashes at dealers.

Wasn’t there a bad batch of those PTR43-00081 TRD Filters where the top and bottom were not flat and wouldn’t seal as well since the O-Ring wasn’t sitting flush against the filter housing?

I just went outside and tracked one down. As you can see, quite the angle at the top since they didn’t cut the filter element flat. (This was purchased from a Toyota dealer)

Gotta love covid supply chain problems. :)

PS - thanks for setting up this thread. This should be a great resource in the future.

A caveat:

The first 200 series showed up in August of 2008 in the US market. I was working at American Toyota in ABQ and saw the truck loaded off of the transport onto the lot and CDan and I spent 2-3 hours inspecting this cool truck.

That was 16 years ago.

As I always like to say: who were you and what were you doing 16 years ago? Think about that. Humanize the product development cycle based on the human scale.

I‘ve always relied on the Land Cruiser as the barometer for conservative automotive development cycles. Land Cruiser is the **most** conservative engineering vehicle in the Toyota lineup — along with the Century.

And with the new the 300 series and the new iterations of product development in the various Toyota Land Cruiser family lineages we are seeing…

Brave new world.

The Toyota design/manufacturing/supply chain/sales logic is becoming more difficult to understand without serious internal Toyota access.

And more importantly, the various Toyota worlds of engineering and manufacturing are becoming super complex with the introduction of future systems to create a product…. IE: a toaster on 4 wheels.

Far out stuff going down, now, especially with TGNA product architecture.

Pretty sure I bought my crooked filters before covid was a thing.

I don't have the part # in front of me but I was told by the parts guy the connectors for the starter motor and alternator will soon no longer be available.
These are those connectors you need to de-pin to use.

You can get these after market but quality is not the same.

More information. What are the Toyota part numbers? What year range? What market?
