While installing my CB today I discovered a weird outlet under the dash. It's on the passenger side of the dash under the glove box. I haven't put a test light on it to to see if it is hot. I will get some pics up after the kids go down for nap time.

i have that as well. Factory? i have a bj60 btw.

its for the inspection light... had it on a 60 and there is one on my forty.. inspection light uses same bulb as the turn signals.. so 12v

Yep, factory light. When I got the cruiser it was in the glove box. Could not for the life of me figure out where it plugged in.

That's pretty cool. You'd think they would have gone with a difference shaped plug though, cause if some dim bulb (pun intended) ever plugged that into house current it would be pretty exciting.:eek::censor:

Still working after 27 years!

I like Spikes mindset

Spike got a 12v version of that,it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.;)

I resemble that remark. The light from my first Cruiser went into the trash immediately after being tested in the wall of my Dad's shop.

Does this exist in 62's?
