Has anyone experienced the wires running over the valve cover getting burnt. On our 87 22rte it’s a thing from the factory.

Mine did. But likely only due to being sandwiched between the IC and valve cover. They’re all wrapped up now w/ heat insulation.

I never did find a part number for the vacuum cap. Ordered a couple but they were too big. I found an old vacuum cap that came on a vacuum switching valve I had ordered years ago for a 85 4Runner and it looks like it’s the right size. Put one of the new clamps from the clamp kit on it.

I know this is a bit late but I replaced my engine harness. Before throwing it in the parts bin (never throw away toyota parts) I sniped some wires to add an extension to my IAC and TPS. I wanted to make sure they were as far away from the exhaust manifold as possible.

I spent some more time unraveling the wiring harness to discover that it is too short to reach over to the throttle body now. There’s actually a clamp junction so I gotta think about how I’m going to deal with this. Not fun taking apart an expensive wiring harness to discover this, that TRD said would work when it won’t.

PCV System with the TRD Supercharger
I'm putting in a supercharger and I came across this thread: PCV 101 for Forced Induction 80's Basically, it suggests that the PCV routing should be changed from the TRD instructions so that the PCV hose moves from the intake manifold to the throttle body adapter pre-supercharger...

The hardest part of dissecting the wire harness is the section where it goes down from the firewall past the EGR to the injectors. Once you get past that going across the firewall to the lead for the mass airflow sensor is pretty basic and easy to do. As I thought about this since it didn’t work the way the instructions said I’m gonna build an extension harness to tap into the factory harness and pull the leads out for the throttle body by the mass airflow sensor, where it will be all neat and up and away from the heat.
