I am almost finished with my rebuild of the 1FZ-FE motor. I have been following the FSM but I seem to have missed some bolts and don't want to proceed any further until I get this figured out.

Here is a picture of the bolts....Allen head but I don't know where they go. I fear I will be tearing the engine apart again :(

Thanks.......

Any more details about them? Were they together, or just two random bolts left over? I just finished a partial rebuild and I don't recall anything that looked like those.

Sorry I don't have much more information on these. They were on my table of parts and I saw them there but don't remember taking them out. This was on a complete rebuild. Due to an extremely difficult pulley bolt which I ended up having the machine shop remove, I couldn't remove the timing cover and the machinist did this for me and sent me a bag full of bolts and pieces which I used to put everything back together. That being said I believe I followed the FSM pretty close but these were left over.

I also have a 300ZX project I am working on and maybe these 2 bolts are from that project. I just didn't want to go any futher if I forgot these in the 1FZ-FE rebuild!

Definitely not OEM. My wild guess: they were used by the shop to help secure the crank pulley when they were either removing it or tightening it back down. Do they fit into those two holes on the front of the crank pulley?

Why don't you just call the place where u got the work done? They may have an answer

Thanks everyone for your help. Glad to know I don't need to tear the engine apart again......will sleep much better tonight :)

Those appear to be cylinder head bolts for your 300ZX.

having torn down my motor completely, those do look odd. I dont think they are stock.
