Where can I find a good, working oil pump for a 71 FJ40? Can't anything but 2F pumps on the market.

I don't have one. I sold all of my cores to SOR to get the rear hatch supports in new chrome for the 72. I believe that the 2F oil pump is still available at Toyota, and it is a better pump that should bolt right in. Because I am not sure @FJ40Jim may chime in and give us a definitive answer.@dlzadl do you have one?
I've wondered about that, but would think because the 2F motor pushes oil from the cam through a passage that comes through a rocker arm pillar, opposed to a dedicated oil line that feeds a union connecting the rocker arm halves in the 1FI don't have one. That's great info. thanks for your time and effort. In 2018, when I rebuild my 68 F, same boat $500 oil pumps from SOR really really sucks and you cannot use a 2F pump, they have an internal relief and the oil pickup is different.
However, contact the following...they can rebuild your original or in my case, they had a rebuilt unit..,.,$78 plus $25 core.

@Stevepipeman, I have a freshly rebuilt spare F engine oil pump.
Original part that was rebuilt by Egge - a well known old school company here in L. A.
I took my old pump to them to rebuild it and when they said they had one on the shelf I bought it.
It is identical to the one I took out of my F engine and looks new. PM me if you still need one.
Flee, how much do you want for the rebuilt pump? Mark J. agrees that it's the best way to go.@Stevepipeman, I have a freshly rebuilt spare F engine oil pump.

Dang Mark, you blew my chance to make some $$!I've wondered about that, but would think because the 2F motor pushes oil from the cam through a passage that comes through a rocker arm pillar, opposed to a dedicated oil line that feeds a union connecting the rocker arm halves in the 1F

No other changes are necessary. Install updated oil pan and 2F pump w/ integrated pickup. There is a pressure relief in the new oil pump that blows off at about 60#, and there is the original F pressure relif on the outside of block that is usually set to open at 50#, so the overall system will still run at 50# with a redundant 60# relief in the pump.
