So the story goes, I started with a bone stock LandCruiser no lockers 250k on it
Over the course of one year I have drove it as my daily and put around 22k on it. Being a high school student with a minimum wage job is definitely a struggle.
Along the course of 2015-16 year the Cruiser has had its problems as expected from a 20 year old vehicle, like loosing my brake booster, a tear in my intake between the mass air flow and throttle body, and at one point getting 5mpg. All of them being a setback from my goal.
The build started with an ARB bull bar early 2015 previously the LC was in an accident with an ARB bull bar with no winch mount, so I had replaced it with a new ARB bar. Previously I had ran the 31" TOYO H/T to cords so next was the obvious choice, I made the upgrade to 33" TOYO R/T.
After a couple trips in the winter I quickly got tired of the stock running boards (mud collectors really) so I took those off and ran with no rocker panel protection for awhile and then decided to fabricate some rock sliders with my old man. We ended up going the square tube route and they turned out good and stout.
Those were next sent off to the powdercoater, we had designed them to be a little more of a morph between a slider and a running board, they work as a step and some protection from door dings and rocks and stumps, at the rear of the slider we made a kick out to push the ass end of the truck out from any rocks or stumps it may be pinned up too.
Further in the future I decided to get a pair of well window visors for LC, I got them for the purpose of keeping rain out mainly and I find them ascetically pleasing.
So newest mod! Just put on an eBay snorkel today! After getting over cutting a huge hole in my fender I have decided it was worth it! Here are the results I love it!
For now that is all that is done to the build, definitely a slow process being a high school student with a low income high job. This weekend I will be ordering a snorkel kit and installing I will keep the thread up to date as it progresses.
