Ok, I wonderedo_O Oh the threaded nipple holds it in place, some are Allen head and some slotted, if you don't see a slot it's a 8mm-5/16, I believe, you will never get a filter on without removing the heater, you are getting closer, I'll check on your wife harness, Dustin is getting married today :flush:
@shocktower Please give Dustin our best wishes, very happy for him!!! I might call you if I have any specific questions when I'm trying to swap out the fuel filter.

No problem, and you can just use vise grips on the one you have now, I wish I remembered the part number for the replacement I may remember later today

Ok I see an issue on clearance of the brake booster, your stock rubber and steel plated motor mounts should be on the frame, not the motor, the stud is causing a clearance problem :eek::eek:

I actually do have both lightly bolted onto the frame of the land cruiser, so just the Toyota factory threads are sticking up. Problem is I just need the engine mounts/entire engine back 1".

Oh you have the transfer case shifter still on, that thing get in the way , and people wonder why I like to pull the body off to do the swap :flipoff2:

No I don't, I took that off too. Looks like it's mostly the fuel filter housing. I am removing it today and will figure out a fix later, maybe relocation. Just want to get the engine in where it's should sit properly.

Got that sucker in!!!
Removed the fuel heater...will need to modify how the fuel line enters without having the fuel heater body on. Removed the large fuel filter and bracket...will need to more than likely relocate or install a Faas system. The only way I was able to get it to seat properly on the engine mounts was to install the Toyota mounts onto Dustin's fabricated cummins brackets, the rubber on the Toyota Moby's enabled the threads hanging down to have some movement to them and got it to slide right in. Man that's a snug fit!!! I will still more than likely add a 1" body lift and that should make the wiring easier. Thanks to @shocktower and @gdctaco for the guidance!

Should not have a problem fitting the fuel lift pump and heater. That filter housing is the late modle 97-98. I have the 96 and earlier on mine and have no clearance issues at all.

It looks like the lift pump will be no issue, however the fuel filter housing and bracket hits my brake booster. I think I need the same year bracket and filter that your running!

Started fabricating my exhaust. Decided to come right off the back of the turbo v-band flange. Plan is to clean it up and paint it then wrap if with exhaust wrap. Crazy looking... should work great though. Threaded it through down the side of the trans bell housing and then a straight shot almost along the side of the transfer case and trans cross member. I have about a good 1" from the firewall to the exhaust pipe.

So, my last post on here was September 2017.... Dustin came through for me although some time had gone by.
I received everything that I needed to be able to continue this project. Wiring harness converted, ac manifold and throttle control sent to me last week. I am very thankful to have my parts! I am also very grateful to many members on this forum who have helped me along the way.
Keep posted...I am looking forward to seeing this through now. I have not touched my rig in almost 3 years.
