@shocktower thanks so much for the good advice and guidance on these steps, no doubt will certainly help! I did make use of the rubber cushion at the base of the old fuel pump, drilled a small hole in it and passed the pick up tube through and re seated. Seems really stable, however I definitely understand what you described. I just might install a hose clamp. Thanks!

I probably made that pick up o_O tube, and for the price of 2 hose clamps, and the location of you losing the tube, probably BFE, I would get the 2 hose clamps. I share a picture of mine

@shocktower that looks awesome! I've read through your build thread as well...I'm following your lead! I will definitely be revisiting the fuel pick up tube. You said you more than likely made the tube for my kit....best looking fuel pick up tube I've seen! Hahaha. Keep up the good work!

Converted the dodge alternator, swapping out the Toyota brushes and the correct plug. Also picked up the correct thermostat. fits like a glove.

Cleaned and painted my roof rack and re-installed it today. Trying to get as much done as I can on other projects until my wife harnwss arrives.

What a great build!!! What kind of paint did you use for the grill? How'd you prep the grill?
@SteelHunterFJ80 i used a green scotch bright pad to scuff the grill, taped off the chrome lettering, then used a paint prep solution to clean it for paint and i applied 3 coats of rustoleum flat black enamel. Ta...Da!

Today I was close to getting the engine/trans installed. Realized I now need to swap out my fuel filter bracket with one from a 96 to allow enough clearance. I am about a solid 1" off of my motor mounts. Looks great sitting in its new home though! Going to look other clearance issues over too while it sits there.

Ok, first, you are a brave man hoisting it up with out the turbo covered, and you radiator neck to the block needs to rotate to about 3 O'clock
other wise looking good, oh yeah make sure you get the right threaded fuel filter thingy/nipple, you need to remove the heater thing and replace the nipple a short one, also P-pumps are a little tighter on the, inter cooler up pipe, there maybe some cussing involved :flipoff2:

 Sub'd. So far looks great, now rather than S/C I'm thinking diesel

@shocktower Haha I totally agree about the turbo, I took off the turbo housing after I installed the engine temporarily. I looked at removing the fuel heater, not sure exactly how to go about that one without cutting the bracket? Maybe just need to remove the threaded portion.

Ok, I wonderedo_O Oh the threaded nipple holds it in place, some are Allen head and some slotted, if you don't see a slot it's a 8mm-5/16, I believe, you will never get a filter on without removing the heater, you are getting closer, I'll check on your wife harness, Dustin is getting married today :flush:
