Smartass .....
I can use the hat, gloves, (to work in the garden) and with a little help, I can probably assemble the shovel. :moon:
Ouch....I think you hit a sore spot, Peter :)

Charles next pick up. :)

Normally Peter will use those big legal words and I don't even realize I've been insulted but at least this time it was obvious.
:)

Can we expect you to lead a rescue class at Windrock? I presume you know how to use the hat. You've got time to learn what everything else is and how to use it.

Rescue Class ..... Short introductory speech at 10:00am followed by a :45 PowerPoint. I'll take questions for a while before we break for lunch.

Back on Tech, thanks Charles.

We would love to support your presentation at the 70s meet. :)

Sorry Charles. I was a little harsh. After posting, I considered my own recovery gear. It is almost used up from rescuing me so many times!
But if you're not getting a tug out now and then, you're not trying hard enough!

PBR, I'll sneak him into the Jeep Jamboree there in a few weeks and let him practice recovery on lesser vehicles ;)

I thought that version was for the boys...the one I used was just a hole in floor board....if you had the reach! ;)

Is that the original steering wheel? (Tech question)
I guess I'm fortunate enough to have the original steering wheel because I see this version (aka .. Dune buggy steering wheel) on a LOT of 70 Series. There must be a warehouse somewhere in the world that is full of OEM steering wheels.

Peter, I did notice some significant pot holes in the Walmart parking lot the other day but I was able steer clear of them.
(A 75 year old lady in a scooter served as my spotter and no recovery gear was required)

Hello.

Those wooden steering wheels are common in JDM units.

As long as they are the same diameter as the OEM ones, it is fine in my books.

My FZJ73 came with an aftermarket wheel. After noticing some difficulty in steering around tight spots (namely, work's parking lot) I measured it. Its diameter turned out to be 60 mm/2.375 in. smaller than its factory counterpart: maybe it is good for sports cars, but not for me. It requires more effort, at least for me.

That smaller wheel is on the replace-with-OEM-stuff list anyway.

Yep, the Japanese seem to love swapping steering wheels and shift knobs. When I was searching for mine I figured I would need to find and swap stock stuff back onto it after purchasing, but fortunately I was lucky in my hunt. Also, the stock rear tire carrier and wiper... they all end up in the same warehouse.

I guess I should consider myself lucky then, all of those items are still present on my Cruiser. :)

I would say so... They tend to love chrome too.
All of my chrome bling bling has been removed .....
The front "sore lip" chrome bumper has been replaced with an ARB brush bar.
The rear chrome bumper has been replaced with a Rob Smith custom bumper that matches the front ARB.
The rear ladder and chrome steps are now textured black.

I've still got plenty of de-bling to do myself. I have my sights on eliminating the front porch soon, but need to find or make a replacement local to me... that's a complicated matter.

Good luck .... Remember to throw an occasional photo our way. :)
