Nice rack, I really like the high lift mount on the back it seams like a less damage prone area than the normal mounting locations.
As with the majority of Rob's designs, the roof rack will be woefully over-engineered so there should be minimal flex. (There will be 8 individual supports). The center portion along the highest part of the roof will clear by slightly more that 1/2" while the front and rear will clear by ~ 1". The beauty of his design will allow for fairly easy adjustment in elevation if necessary. Due to the proximity of the rear ladder, I would assume the bulk of the cargo would be loaded in the rear portion of the rack where the clearance is the greatest. **(Tech content)Do you think you might be cutting it close with only 1/2" clearance? If the rack was used as intended and got loaded up a tad more than it should and driven on a bumpy road (think bringing firewood to camp) I'd be concerned of some rub from flex. I'd go an inch personally.
After all if it's made well enough you can put a chair up there and watch the clouds pass

**(Non tech content) ... I've been watching clouds pass by for 40+ years and I'm kinda over that.
I do however appreciate your thoughts and input.
It's my intentions to move the wiring over in front of the passenger seat.I might suggest rerouting that wiring - I'd find that terribly distracting!

Thanks
We do serve that region with our kerosene pigeons so when you wake up one morning and your Ute is gone, remember you gave me permission.Like this. Just found my spare.
If you can get one cut, find my ute and smuggle it back on your big kerosene pigeon, you can keep it.
