That would result in ~4.25 backspace. You are still 3/4 of an inch light.
There's a lot here to unpack. Let's expand.
If you want a 17x8 wheel with the same backspace as an OEM 16x6 wheel, you will need to find one with a -25mm offset.
Good luck with that.
True, but Braid 17" wheels aren't available with the same offset options as 16" are, according to their website. No idea why.
@FJBen I will delete if you request me to do so, but here are some scans from training material used at Discount Tire many years ago. Maybe it will help.

What about Stockton Wheel? Any diameter, any width, any offset. Only steel, though. And I think you need to provide wheels for them to modify.
Talk to @umpqua I think he got a set made at Stockton. He's south of the border right now, so he might not see this right away, but he should be able to give you some feedback on their product/service.
Summit does carry the steel wheel in 17". They seem to be in the $300ish range for the smooth vintiques. I'll have to check and see what the custom sizes are.Pretty sure you can have a Walker Evans or Raceline built to any specs, about $500 a wheel and beadlock to boot.
Why not steelies? I don’t recall if the Summit steelies come in a 17 but they do in a 16 for sure. There is FJCruiser holed steelies but bs is to much.
You guys are right about bs, FJ60 is the same. Ten years ago there was more options for wheels with that bs.
Cheers
FJ Cruiser steelies are 17”, and you can send them to Stockton to be customized to 3.5” bs (or whatever you want). They cut out the centers and weld them to a new 17” outer. Any width/offset you choose.
