SOLD!!!! Up for sale is a 1985 Toyota FJ60 originally Texas/so cal truck until year 2000. Transplanted with a 1995 Chevy LT1 in 1998.This has been my daily driver for over 10 years. 1 previous owner who was a jet propulsion engineer and did the conversion for his wife.
I love this truck it has served me well – there is no better utilitarian truck out there than a 60 - sorry 80's guys-:bounce:may have to go to therapy when it leaves:frown: but I just can't have 3 trucks in my life anymore – bought a real nice 80 and it is very difficult to look at both- the body lines and cool factor of the 60 just crushes the 80 and is roomier – - I had to repost
Thanks for all the cool trade offers guys but if I didn't have trucks, boats and bikes I would be surely keeping this-

I can tell you that I have dealt with skintunes in the past and he was upfront, honest, and accommodating in our dealing. Were it not for the price of gas these days I'd probably have bought his 60. My two cents here from real experience, not conjecture.

I've bought several vehicles that were listed on Mud over the years and before making any commitment I make sure all the details are nailed down. I'd advise any potential buyer/seller to do the same. Disappointments happen but they can be minimized if not almost completely eliminated by addressing all foreseeable issues ahead of time. Shmukster

As a matter of fact I informed Shmukster he could drive home on my tags and insurance 200+ miles and send the tag back--- because we have established something have dealt with each other and are long time members and cruiser lover's .
Hell- would you even fly 1000 miles spend $1000 to see a member of your family without physically calling them-
I guess i'm old school- still hate when girls text me... pick up the phone- no room for miscommunication or misinterpretation

I too have dealt with skintunes before. I have known him since 1999, I have wheeled with him. I have seen this truck he is selling and, like shmukster, I have considered buying it. He can be trusted.

I don't know what happened here but if I were going to take the time and spend the money to fly somewhere to get a truck I would have the details solidly in place beforehand. I have bought trucks that were within driving distance - still needing to coordinate a ride there and all the details of seeing, buying and getting the truck home - and even THAT is a significant operation.

Over a holiday weekend? Having to deal with DMV to get tags? Then needing to drive 30+ hours through 6-7 states?

I hope this works out for all involved.

Gas prices are dropping- and it gets better mileage than most cruiser's and faster than some porsches - get this before it goes to EBAY - Figured someone here would appreciate it- never ever saw one like it

This is a really good deal for a swap. I can not believe this hasn't sold yet, and too bad I need the seating of an 80.

I might be interested in that rig - just saw it on here for the first time today. I am an occasional site visitor with a 1982 FJ60, safari-style, and a Vortec and 4L60 sitting in the garage now, contemplating the conversion process. I live in the Seattle area, emissions won't be an issue for that age of rig in WA. You can contact me at EricLAdman@gmail.com if you would like, & I will e-mail you my phone number.

I think the Vortec5.7/4l60 is The setup- They weren't around at the time and the LT1 was The setup-This combo is SO fun to drive- dialed in w/ the limited slip rear you will laugh your ass off- prob could do an 11 sec 1/4 mile - Emissions won't be a problem- it is reg and titled as a 6cyl here in NY -doesn't go on the machines here any more but passed w/ flying colors compared to 2f- still has a cat on int-people have been calling and driving and saying how over the top it is-I want cruiser folks to get this which is why I have not posted elsewhere. If you want 80 seating i will give you the jumpseats from mine as i am trying to "lighten" up that ride

If I had the means I would grab this up... even if I was going to just swap the drivetrain into MY 60 this is still a good deal... you can't even do the v8 conversion for this $... especially one done as nice as this one.

would it pass cali smog?

Not unless the gas tank from the camaro was swapped in also along with all the other emission requirements

Damn if I had a little coin I would buy this in a heartbeat would be nice to hear an lt1 again (sure do miss that firebird) hence my screen name if anyone cares :grinpimp:

what kind of mileage does it get..... I imagine that near 20 is easily possible with a little tweaking.

I still don't think you would see 20 with a truck this heavy- did you ever see 20 from yourFbird??? maybe at 55-60 - just very hard to do those speeds- when half throttle pops you to 80mph. going back to a straight 6 in the 80 i picked up is like switching to a new girlfriend with no personality or sex appeal :crybaby:
