How hard is this type of repair in all honesty? Looks like cutting out and patching would be relatively straightforward. No crazy curves, mostly flat. I'm hoping this is the sort of rust I encounter when I start grinding down my roof... the really scary pics are the ones where the entire gutter is gone as well. That seems like it would be a much more time consuming repair.

My signature where it says "mechanical dufus" isn't an exaggeration so asking me mechanical questions isn't prudent however if you have time, tools, talent and money the repairs aren't a big deal. If you're having to pay a shop to repair the rust areas it's a BIG DEAL.

Actually the priming and painting was step 2. Step 1 was bead blasting. : )

I've been having some intermittent stater issues on my HJ75 (2H) and finally got by the shop this morning for some trouble shooting. The shop had a brand new Cummins starter in stock and as it turns out, it is a direct bolt on to the Toyota nose cone. The only issue is the starter exciter (circled in red) is a tad long and has to be shortened so it doesn't touch the block.
I'm not advocating that you forgo the Toyota starter however I'm simply pointing out there are other options if you own a 2H.
