I have always used 3,000 miles as a guideline when using "normal" oil however this synthetic stuff is a little "pricey" to flush out that often.

cause, oil is oil. these old engines need lubrication, they don't require expensive oil to run 500,000 km
and
running the expensive stuff won't keep your engine alive any longer.
the ash build up is the same either way.
your bearings need clean oil, that is all they want.

so you are just wasting your money.

I agree with Wayne.

Your engine needs a film of clean oil on its moving parts, nothing else.

Synthetics and related fancy stuff provide the same film, with only a marginally smaller friction reduction. Not really worth it in my books.

Unless you manage to cover every component in Teflon, any fresh, clean dyno will perform as well as the fancy stuff.

I am having the following A/C issues: At highway speed the A/C functions normally however while I am putting around town it seems to struggle to cool the small cab on the HJ75. I was told the issue was most likely the fan clutch.
Any opinions?

Condensor clogged? Or fan clutch. What are your pressures hi and low. I had jenns highlander compressor crap out sent debris to condensor. The parallel flow condensors can clog easily. Could also be expansion valve. Hers would cool at speed but not in traffic. New condensor and expansion valve and freon and its good again. But i knee fan worked properly. And i knew pressures were wrong so i knew there was debris in system.

I talked to my local garage ( by their admission they are not A/C experts ) and they said there was limited airflow going through the radiator and condenser when the engine was at low rpm ( thus the theory that the fan clutch had issues ). If the fan clutch ( thanks Beno ) does not correct the problem than I am off to see the A/C guru.
I just replaced most of the major A/C components on my 4Runner so my slush fund ( the one I hide from my
wife ) is running low so I don't want to arbitrarily replace parts that are not at fault. Thanks for your input guys ............

Did u get pressure readings? But by all means start with the basics. And sometimes debris between rad and condensor will affect as well. Totally understand hobby fund. Im just lurking in this forum section anyway.

The fan clutch issue was diagnosed while I was changing the oil so I have not yet visited the A/C guys. That is on next week's "to do list." I plan to replace the fan clutch even if it plays no role in correcting the A/C issue simply because it is "new and shiny" and the other one is not. If the fan clutch corrects the problem than my clean living is obviously starting to pay off.

When was the last time the gas was changed?
I tend to agree with Wayne that the fan clutch will not do much for the aircon
