This is where the HJ75 turbo money went.......
I know it is not as "cool" as a Cruiser but at least it is a Toyota.:D

i like them old 4plays, nice find.

They seem to hold their new looks well. There is a few around my area with their 80s paint schemes and they look like they just left the factory

Not everything Toyota did in the '80's was good. They installed "faux leather" interiors in many of their trucks ( They really seemed to like RED....red seats, red carpet, red dashes, red door panels....well you get the idea.) RED is not a color that holds up well in years of sunlight ( has a tendency to fade to pink ):)

It must have been an American thing, all the Toyotas of those years here have brown or blue interiors. My ex had a 4runner,85 model and it was blue and seemed to handle its age quite well. Admittedly she was very fussy and had dark tint all round

As long as you wear good quality sun glasses ( or a welders mask ) the red interior is really not that noticeable. :D

Attn. Electrical Guru's

Does the fuel and water temp. gauge ( side by side in my instrument cluster) on my HJ75 share a common ground or other electrical source?
Thanks....

Wayne you can be a bit more helpful than that!

Allow me to elaborate ...... Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed some wild swings of the water temp. gauge so I checked the easy stuff ( fluid level, hoses and even replaced the t-stat ) and the issue remained. I did notice yesterday that when the temp. gauge goes crazy the fuel gauge does also. ( thus an electrical issue or frayed wire?):)

I think he is looking at a fix for the factory gauge or what Wayne calls the idiot lights
I have to go into my 75 and fix the coolant and oil pressure gauges.

Bad earth I say. Pulling the dash fascia out is fairly easy. Fuel gauge and temp gauge both plug into connector B ,it could be loose or need the prongs cleaned

Thanks for the information Rosco. I am actually glad it is an electrical issue and not an overheating problem.:)

This is actually a common problem but it seems to be worse on the 60 series, they share a similar set up.

My brothers 73 series had the same issues , and the fault was the earth

Thanks for the information. Having owned a 2L-TE powered Cruiser has made me a little paranoid when it comes to overheating issues.:D I guess I can drive the 4Runner for a few days while I get the issue corrected.
