If they wander too far off the beaten path, mods have been known to shift them into chat:meh:

Hopefully the moderators have a soft spot for vintage aircraft and realize if it were not for those aircraft and the brave pilots who flew them this forum might be in a different language.:)

or post more tech as well ...
how about you turbo the 2H and do a report?

Assuming my truck is where I left it when I return home ( it is currently setting in an airport parking lot in the panhandle of Florida which is in the direct path of a tropical storm / hurricane.:)), I do indeed plan on adding a turbo to my 2H. The first priority is to reupholster the seats and then find enough down time to install the turbo. All this is complicated by the fact that the HJ is my daily driver. Hopefully my wife will let me drive her 4Runner for a few weeks.:)

now, you don't want this thread to get burried in s***Shat so pitter patter, get some more tech posted up and let the mod know...
just sayin

Time for an emu lift and a set of 255s for that girl too!
While your add it better get a big 8274 for her too....

Keep in mind that this is my idea of "off roading" so I am not sure that additional lift and larger tires would be a prudent use of funds and I must confess that I have no clue what a "8274" even is.:)

They have a soft spot for it on chat. On here they have a soft spot for tech. Its the same as selling things, once one does it ,everyone gets in on the act and you spend half your time sorting through it to find the tech

2H Turbo

Is there a thread for adding a turbo to a 2H diesel? Thus far I have been unsuccessful in locating it if it exist?
Thanks......

buddy,
turboing a 2H is so one  ...
ask away, Radd Cruisers sells a nice "complete kit" for a 2H ... drain oil, unbolt, bolt, drill weld, fill with oil, done.

It is obvious that you have me confused with someone who has even minimal mechanical skills. The last item ( fill with oil ) is perhaps the one thing I can tackle with a high level of confidence. :D

Package showed up this morning (6/28)......Thanks Onur.:)

The HJ75 requires "mechanical skills" while the aircraft requires "computer" skills and I can use a keyboard as good as the next guy.:D

The money for the turbo installation was just spent on a 1987 4Runner so the HJ75 will stay normally aspirated for a while longer.:)
Sorry no tech stuff to offer............

Does anyone know if the 1st generation 4Runner and my HJ75 share the same type of gearbox?
Thanks.....

I think your HJ75 box has its ancestry in some old chev gearboxes
