my friend ... was ... me.
i stole the idea from the Oz boys and had Louis secure me some industrial grade aluminum decking.
thanks for the compliment.

after using a tray, the original box looks great ... but is quite useless for what i use the truck for.

First of all I could put 8,180 lbs of cargo in my original box but you are then confronted with the issue of loading 8,180 lbs and then unloading 8,180 lbs and who in their right mind would want to do that.:D
I did however haul the trash off earlier today ( approximately 20 lbs):)

show off...
the 8180 was including the vehicle, my fat ass and my helper. the load was probably only about 3600 lbs

8,180 lbs or 3,600 lbs ...load / unload....the concept is the same.:D

I know its not a Cruiser but my neighbors project is kinda cool.:)

There will finally be a vehicle in the neighborhood I can outrun.:D

As it turns out the problem was not with the throw out bearing but was an issue with the improper installation of the pilot bearing. ( I will go into details however there was evidence of silicone which speaks volumes of the quality of the previous clutch work.:bang:)
Top photos is of the missing pilot bearing and resulting damage.
Middle photo is of the "properly" installed pilot bearing and corrected damage.
Bottom photo....old throw out bearing....replaced with a new one
Although it is not visible in the top photo there was significant damage to the shaft as a result of the improperly installed pilot bearing which was fortunately corrected by a very talented machinist.

The old clutch was actually in fairly good shape but was replaced anyway.

you are going to get that flywheel turned properly ... right?

Yes but I will not be there to photograph the finished result. The machine shop will be finished with it early tomorrow.
In the above photo the clutch is just setting there to verify proper fit.

Awesome work here Charles from your guys in GA. They talk with a pretty hard drawl, but it looks like they are takin good care of the 75 for you sir.

Don't let that Southern drawl fool you.:D... Those guys are sharp. I am fairly sure the strap they used to secure the gearbox to the jack was securing a deer stand to a tree just a few months earlier.:)

Does anyone have any insight concerning the following issue: As I accelerate ( or
in my case slowly gather momentum:)) the speedometer indicates accurately from 0 to 40, hesitates than suddenly jumps to 60 and then reads accurately for the rest of the scale. Is this a lubrication issue, binding cable etc.?
Thanks.....

hint:
years ago the RMLCA came to the conclusion that you MUST have one thing not working right in your Land Cruiser so that all the other things work properly.
if you fix that one thing then another must sacrifice it's life to expel the negative energy the vehicle accumulates over the decades.
the older the vehicle the more negative energy must be expelled so ... you might have a couple things not working absolutely perfect.

i would say this cable issue might be your old LC saying "leave me alone and the rest will work as it should"

????

Is this issue occur right after you have separated the cable from the box for your new clutch.

Even I can take a hint :D You are like that bald guy in the robe that sets at the very top of the highest mountain and answers "life altering" questions for the faithful pilgrims.:):)
