I am starting flight school in November and unfortunately have made the decision to sell this beauty to cover some expenses.

I purchased her from the 2nd owner who had her for apparently thirty years. This 40 was his daily driver while he lived in a tiny mountain town in the northeast of Napa Valley CA. Occasionally making a few road trips to San Diego. I haven't had a chance to carfax to confirm, but they think they purchased it with 13k miles and enjoyed her ever since. They claim the seat covers have always been in the truck and as far as they know everything is completely original except at some point they resprayed the hood....and it definitely looks that way to me. Also has some cool old school coil -over shocks, but everything else is there. Tools, jack, handles, etc....this truck is a time capsule!! And yes, they are BFG 9.50 33 muds lol! ( if you know... you know) like I said.... time capsule.

I purchased her as an investment to enjoy and I have been using her daily and commuting to work. I have another 83 Bj40 and it's not even close to how great these late FJs run down the highway if that's even a concern.

As you can see from the pics, she's in great original condition. Not sure how many 83's are around with AC and PS that are rust free and unrestored, but this truck is a true gem.

Here are a bunch of pics, but please reach out if you are serious and need anything specific or have questions. I'm sure I will update things, or ad more pics..... but this is to get things started.

75k and rust like that 😳

Not going to happen

Made it home from work early enough for better pics. I contacted the PO about the spot on the rear passanger side in pic. They said it was a small rusty ding when they purchased it 30 years ago and they treated it. It hasn't changed since and it apears

to check out. Here are better pics. Also I absolutely can not find any other rust spots on the entire truck other than the pics below. Appreciate it.

I was second in line on this 40. I was on vacation in Florida when I saw the listing (had only been on 15 min), she called me after an hour or so, basically made me think it was mine then at the end of the conversation said “well there’s one guy ahead of you I haven’t called him yet.” I offered her over asking and an immediate wire transfer she wouldn’t budge. I respect her going in order but I was extremely disappointed, I’m sure you being local won her over in the end. This was my dream 40, I’ll always remember it as the one that got away lol

That's crazy! I saw her with a 4 sale sign on her parked at their estate sale. I've been chasing this truck for a long time as I've seen them driving around my area. They never mentioned anyone else after it. She's all fixed up now !

And for the record I didn’t sleep for the following three nights dealing with anguish of not getting it. Basically ruined my vacation. I thought I deleted all the pics I had because I never wanted to think about it again. I knew I would eventually see it for sale, I didn’t think I’d still be so salty about it haha.

75k and you can have it now

Is the truck lifted? The rear shackles look non-stock but I cant see them well enough

Hi thanks for the question. The shackles look OEM along with the springs, however it has coil-over shocks that are definitely not stock. I could be wrong, but I believe that's the case. Happy to send you pics tomorrow.

Since you brought it up, I do have a 2" Old Man Emu lift kit I will include with the sale if buyer wants it.
