Everybody looks at, I get thumbs up from tons of other motorist. Every time I get fuel, the service attendant asks to see under the hood. Sounds as good as it looks. All that money invested and the bezel is upside down. What a shame.

Nice truck. GLWS

Clean looking 40! Just curious to why it is sporting a pre '79 Bezel? and pssst... it's on upside down FYI. Also do you have original signal lamps. Plus I thought all post '79's had vents in the hard tops? Does it have factory power steering?

Thanks

Love those Mickey Thompson Baja Belteds! Paint looks great, love the front bumper too. Steering wheel is awful though.

Thanks for the feedback.

The fenders are not factory (to accommodate tire width legalities)

I prefer the look of the older Bezel, that's why it's on there. As for it being upside down, It's been changed but the pics do not reflect it. The year correct Bezel comes with the rig and has fresh paint on it. Didn't think it was a huge deal considering this was obviously non an attempt to remain factory. I ended up with an extra bezel in my factory correct restore of my 73.

The steering column and wheel is Ford and has all the power options associated with it.
Thanks for viewing.

When I referred to post '79 "vents" I'm am not talking about side window opening glass vents (77+) but the "air" vents that are a two part (inner and outer) sections that are just below the window vents on post '79 hard tops. They allow for better air circulation and less fogging up in rear of vehicle as well as air compressibility when closing doors. The inner section has a rubber stapled flap that goes through a factory hole in hard top and th outer section is decorative factory silver plastic. This has been on all '79 thru 84's I've seen....

The reason for mentioning this was in a round about way...... is this the original top as you'd mention body was "documented".

Are the aftermarket wide fenders Gozzard composites?

Not to distract from your post.... but at least the comments bump it to the top for you.

Best of luck with the sale.......

For me it's the slugomatic that detracts my interest...... just noticed that in your pics.

Off topic: FlyBoy, never heard of those. Learn something new everyday, I suppose. What do they look like? Got a pic?

X2 on this being a good looking ride. Best of luck.

Bib Bezel...

BCPDX....

So may we assume you have factory 1980 Bib as well as Bezel....?

....cause a pre '79 Bezel will not fit a post '79 Bib.

Headlights are a slightly wider stance on later models.

....just saying

Beautiful looking truck man.....

Cheers

How well does it cool without a shroud around the radiator fan ?

how does it ride with the rancho 5" lift?

clean looking 40. what's been done to the rear axle? what t-case is in it?

If anyone is seriously interested in purchasing the rig or wants to discuss some type of trade situation, send me a pm. We can exchange phone numbers and discuss anything you like.

Owning many LC's over the years and owing more than a few now, I've been a big fan of this site for many years and utilized it with many situations I've found myself in (thank you). I figured it was finally time to engage and participate in this online community.

I guess with the good comes the bad. I posted my rig here for sale and also included many detailed pictures to aid in someone making a decision as to if they want the rig. If you don't like the rig, move on, plenty of fish in the sea... Thank you.

Anyone viewing or commenting on this post can assume anything they want.
I'd hope the poster responding to my post would maybe, just maybe, assume is that I'm proud of this rig and would rather spend the time wheeling or working in the shop instead of spending the time defending it or myself.

People will be people. With all the above being mentioned, I do find it remotely entertaining to check out some folks profiles and see what they post and can't help but notice that it's not only my rig they feel the need to publicly knock.

For those of you who are serious about perusing owning this beautiful rig, send me a pm. For those of you that want to knock it or me please spend your time elsewhere. Advanced thanks.

And why i'm at it... Yes, I personally do think it's too nice to wheel. I have more fun sliding my bone stock 84 fj60 with 33 x 9.50 AT's into trees than worrying about getting this 80' 40 dirty. Sad but true...

Great write up. I've had similar comments made on my classifieds. Unprofessional and unecessary. You spent 50k and made it your own. Nice looking rig and GLWS! Hoz
