1979 two owner stock FJ40 restoration project for sale.
Have had this rig for a long time and always wanted it to be my keeper. But time, space and life changes are getting in the way. Restored late model rigs are demanding high prices. Someone do this rig right!
The Good:
~ Rig is completely stock and uncut. Never had a stereo (has little plastic stereo din cover) or doors cut for speakers. Two owners (first only owned it for a year).
~ Tons of new OEM parts purchased… gaskets, seals, pumps, filters, shift boots, motor mounts…etc. all included
~ Everything is there. Complete rig.
~ Motor ready to be pulled
~ Jim C rebuilt carb and recurved distributor included
~ All engine component nuts, bolts, brackets tumbled/cleaned and cataloged. Ready to be zinc plated.
~ Many parts cleaned and ready for paint
~ Clean title
~ Solid frame and straight rig
The Bad and ugly:
~ Some rusted panels but have all new replacement steel for those areas included. (bed, DS floor pan, rear sill)
~ Partially torn apart but organized, bagged and cataloged parts.
~ Motor has 134K miles and lost power one day. Parked it and decided to do a restore/rebuild. Not sure on the exact problem.
I'll photograph everything as it sits and post pictures ASAP.
