Great thread with lots of pictures! Thanks for posting so much.

In an earlier post about heat getting in the cabin: I put a flashlight in the cab, turned out all the lights in the garage, and crawled under the 40 and looked for light leaking through. Amazing how many holes I had in the firewall and tranny cover. Sealing them really helped.

Man, so glad you posted this. It reminded me to order more strip caulk, aka dumb dumb, to seal up all the holes.

note :

i did not type this Nolan , it's off wikipedia ...... :)

A fastener with a built in washer is called a SEM or SEMS,

short for pre-asSEMbled ........

rookie here what is JIS SEMS?

Japanese Industrial Thread.

Proper M6, M8, M10 bolts. With attached flat and lock washers.

...and (most important feature to me), JIS bolts will have the same size head as the factory bolts. 10mm, 12, 14, etc. not the 11,13,15mm sizes found on bolts sourced from the hardware store.

It takes double the number of wrenches and sockets when working on a truck with both.

Amen. Holy s***. I got a brake line the other day that was 16mm. I damn near died.

i have only found 2 exceptions to that rule cam , in my TOYOTA Life .....

both the Power Jet Hex on a 2F carb , and the brass hex nuts on back , of a

first and second generation cluster meters are both 9mm hex

otherwise , your spot on .......

my carb oem SST says 9mm on it too ... 🤔

That shop.

The space, the lighting, the tools, the trucks. 🥰

New space going in behind it. Weenie 3 got the honors to be first to be worked on.

I’m enclosing it now and when the walls are done I’m taking Mustard 78 up the lift for a good undercarriage blast and treat.

What does a 2-poster lift like that run these days?? Is it hydraulic?

Cheers!

Waiting on UPS.

added the driver door then went around the entire truck and removed every nasty gold bolt I could find. This was quite a process and I ran out of bolts.

I also swapped out the bumper gold bolts for proper bumper bolts.

And I waited.

About 3 my phone dinged that UPS was in the house.

I sawed the hose down to size and spent way more time than I wanted getting the evap deal hooked up correctly with no dips in the hose.

Hooked up the check valve to a new 1/4” rubber hose for the Charcoal canister (en route still)

I fetched the OEM Jerry can with 5 gallons of non-ethanol pure and shake siphoned it in

I’ve not bled the brakes so my test ride was more about getting it up to operating temps to check for coolant leaks and set the TPS

And if course get some proper shots of this beauty all put together and out of the shop

Holy moly this thing turned out PERFECT
