Awesome looking job on the rebuild. Where did you get the white rims that were on the cruiser? Looks like wheels from an early 80s truck.

Nice! Funny I noticed in the Toyota brochure even new ones have the accelerator pedal rubber coming off ALL the time. BTW anyone know what will hold these things on? Silicone adhesive??

the wheels are from the 79-84 40 series. not sure if they were stock or an option wheel.
they are painted gray now.
the 60 series had the same wheel, albeit chrome plated.

tidied up under the hood a bit. put a new brake master cylinder on it. still need to ordered a new header before putting the intake back on. also cleaned up the rear wiring. finished plumbing the rear brakes while i was back there too. probably work on getting fluid back in the brakes next time i get to the garage. also redid the parking brake. the rears, transfer and tranny need refilled as well.
i "get" to "enjoy" a little bit of winter this week, but i'm looking for warm weather at this point. once i get all paper work taken care of, and can get it on the road and out of the shop i can get to work on a motor for it as well as maybe a hardtop.
once it gets parked again for next winter i can swap the 2fs around.

Keep the pics of this coming! I'm nearly ready to do the same knuckle rebuild--I need all the help--

knuckles are easy. just pay attention to what shims the upper and lower trunion bearing caps have. i got spun around on the felt seal and retaining rings for the wiper on the backside of the first side i did, a quick look in the book and all was well. they are just a sloppy, greasy mess.

think i can say the restoration phase is complete. all that remains is filling the fluids back up, putting a fresh fuel pump on it and taking care of some paper work to get it legal. winter can now officially go fork it's self.

Very, very nice work!

Even your mat looks great! Man I need one for my 77 resto.

it has been "soaking" in armour all for several weeks now. i laid it out and hosed it down. every time i was around i would spend a few minutes polishing it.
it came out of a parts truck i bought for the front doors alone. the mat was an after thought after i seen how hard to come by they are.

well the fuel pump was junk, i knew it was going to be. letting one sit dry for four years will do that. i filled the coolant back up and couldn't stop myself from putting some gas in it...oh well. beno says a new pump should might arrive in time for the weekend!
that will create the need for some sort of exhaust piping. not sure if i'm going to pay a local shop to do it, or do something with the 2.5" ss tubing i collected for the same job....being a pipe fitter i should be able to handle the task...or at least one would think so...

Just came across your build here... Love the progress. Incredible work on the frame... Based on what I saw on the frame, I probably would have figured the frame was history... Excellent job as I said... Subscribed!!

gotta love that sound
