Does a 75 Aisin Carb have a vaccum port for vaccum advance distributor? Also, can i get a pic of the throttle linkage for the same carb pretty please?!

Here is the page on SOR that has all the views on a 1-75 to 10-75 carb, the vacuum port is right under the mixture screw, second picture down. I have a non-USA Aisin and it has 2 ports, and I use the forward one.

For the pics linkage, the linkage on the carb it's-self or the linkage from the pedal to the carb?

Aisin makes transfer cases, not carbs.

A 1975 US or world spec Aisan carb has ported vacuum by the mix screw.

1975 Cali-spec does not have ported vac.

Lighten up you Cruiser Curmudgeon :flipoff2:

Yeah, i got a 3 speed aisin carb, havent you heard of them? Haha. Thanks. I'll check the SOR site for pics. Not sure if its cali-spec or not. About to find out.
Personally, i think somebody mis-spelled "Aisian" and forgot the other "i", making it "Aisan"

Oh, and i was looking for pic of pedal linkage to carb.

Heres the pics of the carb with numbers marking each. Could someone tell me what 1,2,3,4,5,6 are and where they go? I feel like im working on this thing in the dark. Thank you. This project is taking waaayyy longer than i had hoped.

1. Idle Mixture adjusting Screw
2. Vacuum port
3. AAP Diaphram housing, mine's a non-USA, don't have one
4. Dunno, mine's a non-USA, don't have one
5. Choke Breather
6. Fuel Solenoid Valve

Don't worry on the feeling that you're working in the dark, I went thru the same thing when I went from my Weber back to a Non-USA Aisan carb. Took me a while, but I figger'd it out.:meh:

Search the 45/55 tech section, there are a few really good carb adjustment threads that helped be out in dialing mine in.

1) Idle mix
2) ported vacuum
3) Aux Accel Pump
4) Power valve control port
5) Choke breaker/throttle positioner
6) Idle fuel cut off solenoid wire.

Oh, and i was looking for pic of pedal linkage to carb.

Couldn't get any good pics of the linkage, so I default to $OR. Just can't get a good angle to see all the parts. I lucked out that the PO used the stock linkage with my Weber carb, so I didn't have to hunt that stuff down

A pretty good diagram if I do say so

I don't think your carb has #2. I had to add it to my other carb.

#1 is the idle mixture screw

#6 is the fuel cut solenoid. It gets 12v switched power.

I don't remember the names for the others. I think #3 & #5 get manifold vacuum.

I plugged #4.

Glad it arrived safely.

Phil

edit: damn, I'm slow... :)

I had to hunt down all the linkage parts. I found someone with a stock setup that was going V8.

Thanks for the replies. Definately narrowing it down. Heres the same pic with #7 i forgot to add. What is this plug, vaccum port by chance? Also, do i need any hoses running to any of these other ports? And what should i connect the fuel cut wire to, constant 12v, or ignition wire?

No, that is not a plugged vacuum port.

See my post above for where I connected the ports and wire.

Phil

7 is a plug.

#2 connects to vacuum advance (but not vacuum retard; make sure you know the difference)
#4,5 connects to manifold vacuum
#3 you can skip this

The wire connects to a fused switched power source, like the black yellow stripe wire at the voltage regulator. Don't connect this to your coil. It is not fused and it doesn't need anything else to decrease its reliablilty.

Great, thanks for all the info! Looks like im gonna have to send my carb into Mark to get ported vaccum. From what youve all said, im gonna connect the fuel cut wire to the black/yellow wire thats coming off my volt. reg. w/ an inline fuse just for kicks. And hook-up the following to manifold vaccum(i assume this means hooked up to intake manifold via removing threaded plug and using threaded/nipple insert for small rubber hose)# 3,4,5. Correct me if im wrong, thanks again!!

#2 IS ported vacuum. You don't need another. The VR wire is already fused, so it doesn't need another one.

Are you certain about 3 and 4?

I think 3 gets manifold vacuum and 4 can be ignored:confused:

Phil
(aren't you the one who told me that when I asked all these questions 2 months ago?:D)

Why would you skip the Aux Accelerator pump? Does it function without vacuum or does vacuum inhibit it's function (smog reasons?)

I just got mine running again and have a carb backfire issue when I hit the throttle hard. I figured a timing/tune issue. Is lack of vacuum on the power valve port a possible cause and/or vacuum on the aux. accel pump possible causes?

I am running a header and vacuum advance dist. (soon to go HEI)

Thanks for the info and sorry for the quasi-thread hiijack.

Phil
